MY16 Glutorange RS3 - how the hell did you not see me coming!
"always do what you always did and you'll always get what you always got"
The German press text is speaking of "controllable drifts" lol.
Darüber hinaus verfügt die RS-spezifisch abgestimmte ESC über einen Sportmodus, der kontrollierte Drifts ermöglicht. Für ein besonders sportliches Fahrverhalten lässt sie sich auch komplett deaktivieren.
"Beyond that the ESC has a RS-specific tuned spot mode which makes controllable drifts possible. For an especially sporty driveability the ESC can be deactiavted completely.
The Presstext also states that the Haldex can now be controlled via the MMI (drive select) like in the TT-RS.

The 2.5-litre five-banger sends its furious, warbly (sorry) power to all four wheels via a seven-speed DCT gearbox (no manual option, I’m afraid) and an electro-hydraulic multi-plate clutch. According to Audi, the harder you drive, the more power goes to the rear wheels. Good.

Huh... interesting about the haldex control. Didn't realise the TTRS could control it? What can it actually do?
Front brakes look of a completely new design, non wavy, different hub I think. Very hard to tell conclusively from pics but it looks like they are directionally drilled and vaned...

Silver calipers denote Carbon Ceramic brakes, not seen the steel disc on the Saloon yet, though from what I saw of the recent press week the TTRS ones are not the wavy design.
The TT-RS steel brakes are not wavy anymore.
I have seen the TT-RS at the Nürburgring plenty of times this year on the Audi booth.
No waves but also not directional bound.
Edit: The TT-RS can control the haldex like it can control the enginge, suspension and so on.
There is a option for it in the drive select.
I don't know what it does exactly but my guess would be that it determines how quick and how hard the haldex will engage.
The TT-S has got the same feature.

Is it just me but the rear wheel arch looks like it's from an A3? Doesn't look like it has been extended at all.
And drift mode? Audi copying the Focus now?
Virtual cockpit RS mode sounds cool though.
Now this is what you should see in the rear mirror when an RS3 bears down on you...

If only it had a 1/3 of this aggression it would be great.
If it looked like that I'd be queueing up to put a deposit down!
I've been waiting ages for a new RS saloon and I'm a little bit... Meh.
