I was wondering whether anyone has bit the bullet on some actual decent discs, i.e tarox/ap racing? I can't help but feel that a good set of discs & pads for fast Road use along with some better lines and brake fluid could really improve the longevity & quality of the brakes when pressing on? Obviously the other option is a BBK. I'm tempted by the bigger R8 calipers but for the full set up I can't help but think an extra bit of money will buy you a much better Tarox BBK?

spoke to huddersfield Audi, sales guy today and he said that the model: 8p0615301c are the correct type, for the 8p something to do with updated version of squeeky discs, but everything else says its supposed to be 8p0615301b.
he said they updated calippers on the models to combat squeeking?? how the hell do i know if that mod has been done, this is insane.
tried it on with £400 n odd per disc i said try again, because the new code © first google search are 385euros. and the (c ) i can get for £433 for the pair
why are they all full of ****
i gave him my number told him to ring me back when he speaks to his manager with the best price they can for EACH type of disc

The round silver ones (2 on each caliper) you can see on the photos.
On/off they made zero difference for mine.

They also changed the back of the pads by adding semi circular cut outs

If so will I be able to find out if mine was upgraded without removing the callipers?

From underneath or with a mirror you should be able to see if you have the dampers or not.
It doesn't really matter. They didn't work and were not a recall, only fitted to some cars on demonstrated complaint, which they now seem to deny ever existed.

Spoken to Andrew at Macclesfield just now
RS3 front discs for the MK1 are £252 + vat each and £12 shipping
Price was increased in January by Audi £100 per disc
He did say a further 5% discount was possible if 5 sets were ordered
The latest revision is indeed 'C'
Also spoke to TPS
Retail £ 337.40 + vat per Disc
Trade £ 273.30 + vat per Disc
So I'd actually say Andrew's price is not too bad all things considered.

He said the ones I found in fr racing need to be checked and see if they are stamped with the Audi logo anyway
Andrew at Macc also said he would offer a further 5% on a group buy
