As with most of my Audis, my new 8V RS3 is suffering badly with corrosion on the rear disc bell housing. On my previous MK1 RS3 I settled for painting them myself rather than arguing with Audi that a £50k new car shouldn't have rusty discs....

Anyway, looking at the rear disc I can't help think that this is where Audi missed a trick with the new RS3. The front discs are wavy and the calipers bigger, why didn't the rears also get the same treatment?

I'd be interested to know how many of us have rust rear brake discs? Maybe enough to have a group complaint to Audi UK?

Any suggestions for upgrading them? There was an RS6 disc plus calipers upgrade available from 034 Motorsport, is there anything available for the 8V yet?

Anyone know if the RS4 wavy rear discs and calipers would fit?

Yeah, they are the same as the recent RS4 rear discs and calipers. Any idea how difficult they'd be to fit anyone?

Different Dia disc

Probably different offset to the hubs

Caliper probably bigger

Lots of hassle I imagine

And it'll upset braking bias front to back.

thats as far as my knowledge goes, probably best getting the spec of the standard rear disc and the rs4/rs5 rear disc and seeing how different they are for a start then maybe speaking to one of the brake manufactures to see what adapters maybe needed.

On the other forum, someone fitted some after-marked cross-drilled discs. Think they were a direct swop. Looked far superior!

They are from Zimmerman:

Look for 'Nardo Grey with minor tweaks as topic title' 2nd or 3rd page on 8V RS3 section

I should know if they are the same tomorrow, I'm picking up a new set for me to paint. Lol

I'll compare them to the 8P spare discs I have in the garage.
