 Was a great day for a drive on Sunday, so a wee bit of Oil Temp on DIS and Alarm Chirp enabling done

 

Great to see a sublime example of the RS brethren, as I said, any more coding takes your fancy, give me a shout.

 

(and thanks for sending me these pics btw, well chuffed - you coulda asked old ugly to get out of the way though )

Still awaiting delivery , car is at detailers awaiting collection by Audi . Then Pdi & register and then it's mine.
I bought a genuine vcds lead and have been playing around with it on our Golf gti.
Apart from oil temp display and alarm chirp what else is worth doing.

I'll be having a bash at all those when I eventually get the car
Once I'm more competent I'll be more than happy to help out fellow owners with some coding, don't blame me if the car won't start afterwards though;)

Hi,

Does someone knows how to brighten up the DRL in front?

They dimming when put on the headlights!

With my A5 I was able too mod this with vdcs and change the % of brightnes of the DRL's led. But I can not find this anymore in my RS3 vcds menu.

Does someone has an idea?

I'm obviously looking In the wrong places, as I can see people are saying start/stop can be disabled. Can anyone point me in the right direction for the correct coding that's required. Thanks.

2. Adaption (10)
3. Go to channel: Start_stop_voltage_limit
4. Change value to 12.1V ( default is 7.6V)

Wonder whether anyone can help. I got my mate today to use his VCDS machine and put the oil temp on the car. This worked fine but during the process I am not sure if I wrongly ticked something but the seat belt chime now comes on when you switch the ignition on and before you even drive off. Wondering if I mistakenly changed something. Any thoughts.

I also put the daytime running lights on having changed to the new face lift tail lights which works a dream.

Oil temp is a simple tick 1 bit box.....

So you need to go back in and check the row of bits and make sure you didn't accidentally tick the box underneath or above.......

Alternatively you can go into Applications and email/upload the log files, these will be a CSV file and a coding log
Within these you can view every change you did.

I will only be able to go check tomorrow when my mate comes back with his VCDS but I was thinking maybe I ticked USA settings. I recall there being something to do with seatbelts on the other bit settings when I couldn't find bit 10. I maybe have fiddled with the drop down box. I guess I will try and find out tomorrow. I am just not sure if there are such options for seat belt chimes or it's a simple on and off.
