Thought I'd start a thread to include the must have 8v RS3 VCDS codings:

Amazes me why a car of this type doesn't have a oil gauge visible all the time unless you are in lap timer!

 

Set Oil Temperature on all DIS Menus
[17] Instruments
Go to Long Coding
Byte 10, Bit 1. Display Oil Temperature
Tick Box

This cunning modification enables the oil temperature on all DIS menus, - note this will only show a value when the temp has risen above 50 degrees.

 

Suggest we add more to this thread... and pin it :-)

Happy to do any codings for those that don't have VCDS, I'm based in North Surrey, but regularly travel to Redditch / Basingsoke / Bournemouth / Norwich if that helps anyone out.
