I just removed my miltek secondary decat pipes.
Overall the decats are louder across the range but the low rpm pops n crackles are a little muted.
The deeper/bassy tone of the oem sports exhaust is more high pitched with the decats. I prefer the deeper tone hence went back to stock.
Someone mentioned the turbo spool.. I can hear the turbo spool just as much with the oem exhaust.
What I would like to try is disable the exhaust flaps. Unfortunately the obdeleven mod for the exhaust doesn't work any longer nor is the long coding working.

Of course it spools anyway if it works but faster with less restriction, pure math. Take the first cat off and replace it with a racecat or none and it will spool even faster of course but if you not feel or hear anything then its no problem for you :). Exhaust is not a problem now and there are cheap fixes for it and more expensive ones depending on how you want it to work? Search and you will find a lot of solutions.

do you have the Audi sports exhaust as well?

Yes, I do have the Audi sports exhaust as well. It's strange though that when I asked my mechanic who custom makes exhausts about the way of connecting the secondary decats he said it is not only bolt on there is cutting and soldering involved.

He doesnt know what he is talking about at all then. For each secondary cat, its 3 bolts on one end and a clamp (adjusted by 2 bolts ) on the other end.

I have the Milltek catback exhaust and I didn't get it fit with the two second decat pipes also from Milltek. They say it should work but those tiny clamps which comes with the catback system is just a third or fourth the lenght of the oem clamp so. Also the pipes diameter seems very alik which does it really difficult to fit them into each other?

Has anybody Milltek catback with decat pipes fitted with NO modification? It would be great to know. I had a oem exhaust from the beginning not sport if that has some meaning? I have now oem second cats fitted and the sound is ok anyway but would be interesting having decats also.

Although it seems that everone swapping for decats has oem standard or oem sports exhaust not decats + catback or they are not writing here or don't know because somebody else did it for them? Should be interesting hearing from someone if it went ok with both decats + catback.

Did you use axle stands then?

Yes, had to axle stand the subframe at the front. Left the rear on the ground (no points for stands and a jack!)

Tight squeeze but doable.

Ok, than you didn`t understand my problem or I didn`t explain it good enough? I have also mount decats with oem standard and that was easy peacy. The problem is the Milltek catback + decats which is whole other thing and according to what you are saying it seems that you have oem standard or sport but no catback?

As said before Rocketer, something you have isnt correct or where you are having someone to fit them isnt correct. As milltel cat back is made to fit oem and also their own decat pipes. As their decat pipes fit oem cat back and their own cat back system. Either something is faulty or who ever is fitting it is doing something wrong

I'm not sure if my decats are working right. The sound of the car seems muted somewhat until at high load. Then I can hear a difference.

The sound is nice.
However as much as I tried I couldn't get pops and bangs. Normally I could hear them on spirited downshifts but now I can't.

Anyone offer any comments if this is common? I have oem exhaust. Will going to RS sports Exhaust help?
