Just thought I would add my thoughts on my RS3, had it over 6 months now and love every minute of it, have had numerous performance cars over the years and the Audi is by far the best.

Classic to drive, great performance, well mod able, a great all round driving experience.

Even the wife likes it which is saying a lot as she has hated most of my last few cars mainly the Subaru's!!!

It is not without faults that is a given but most can be ironed out and certainly don't remove any of the pleasure that goes with driving the beast!!

I work offshore and when I come off and jump into the car to drive home it's just like the day I bought it, a large smile and that great feeling.

Only my personal opinion.

I know some of you have had some major issues with yours but hope they will eventually be ironed out.

I may be wrong but the issues seem to be with literally the first models on the road there's always going to be teething problems look at the GT40 when I came out cost 10x as much half te time wouldn't even start then you'd be pretty annoyed.
The RS3 either MK1 or MK2 is an awesome machine the word car doesn't do it justice.
If you can get in a RS3 and not smile then I suggest you trade it for a push bike or a Prius because your not a proper driver !

I can see both points of this thread,,,

1, the Mk1 owners such as myself and others have had numerous problems and since having the car had been to and fro to the dealers prob 10 times or possibly more in two years (in my case),,,,,,

Im sure that if you Mk 2 owners have the same issues you would also feel as peeved as some as us do..and we need to vent some steam now and then.

Having said that we have also helped each other on here with recall news  and whatnot so its worth it to find out whats going on ,

we do that on here with the news be it good or BAD !

2, we have had nearly 8/9 months or longer  of endless chatter about build weeks, spec changes ,how many minutes the build has jumped forward in the last few nano seconds, what boat is the fastest so I can get my car to the dealers 8 minutes faster etc....

Yes we poke fun and have a laugh at this but we certainly are not taking the shine off anyones car being delivered !!!

In fact quite the opposite I'm very pleased for you that you are lucky enough to get a new RS3 as I know what a great car they are!

We are one happy  "family" with great banter and laughs on here lets keep it that way

End of sermon  :)

Fair comment Roy and apologies if it was taken in any other way than I meant. I may have chosen my words more wisely if I had actually put any thought into what I was typing. My point wasn't aimed at a few on here who I know have had a LOT of reoccurring problems throughout their ownership. These situations are what the forum is for and of course they should be shared.
My rant was aimed at the people who come on and make a massive deal out of extremely trivial things and spout rubbish like
"I never had this sh*t with my_____" or "it was standard in my _____" or "if I'd known I'd have bought a ____"

For the large part this is a very enjoyable forum with a good crowd, good banter and lots of knowledge so yes let's just draw a line in it and accept that everyone gets different things out of their time on here and nothing will change that!

PS: Did I tell you my car's now in transit, currently sitting at Emden waiting on a boat ;):D

I know it wasn't aimed at any one person bud, your comment just made me go back and reevaluate my comment and upon doing that I realised that I came across as a bit of a D*ck (usually I pride myself on that :D ) but when I can see I'm wrong and I know I'm wrong or could have put it differently I'll be the first to hold my hands up and and say "Yep you were a D*ck, explain yourself!" :)

I've not even got mine yet and I'm sick of reading all the negative sh*t about how this that and the next thing's crap. Being away from cars for a few years then coming back to them by buying my dream car (anything in the RS range) and having to listen to all these greeting faced biatches it's kinda ruining the experience of the wait.. I'm excited as hell about getting this car and I'm sure if there's anything I dislike I'll live with it because as far as I've seen on today's market there's NOTHING compares as an everyday all rounder. Obviously that's my opinion and I'm more than happy to hear anyone else's but F*CK sake, as mentioned above if your nae happy sell up and let a real fan appreciate this extremely awesome piece of engineering.

Thank you please :D

WELCOME to my RS3 FAN club GingeRS but don't knock that S1 'cos that's a HOOT....

Someone once said to me "don't buy the car you want but buy the car someone else wants when you want to sell it"

Them to me have been great words and I've followed 'em since the mid-70s and have never lost money on a car yet and aim to do something similar with BLUEY

And that's all I'm saying here...

Money's hard got, look after it, drive and enjoy something that someone else will eventually want to give you money for...

Back to eBay...

Very wise words indeed.

That's said she's had the DS3 a couple of years now and still loves it. It's bought and paid for and its never missed a beat so it doesn't owe me anything.. As much as I'd like her to get something that I could have a bit of fun in when the RS3's having a day off I've also learned over the years that you can't put a price on keeping your wife happy.. I'd give anything not to have to deal with the misery that comes with her not being happy so I guess I'll be letting her stick with it until she's ready to let go ;)

Mine touch wood is performing faultlessly with even better braking and dynamic performance than before. Just to fix the exhaust to my liking and I'll be happy until the RS3 saloon arrives......

Has the RS3 Saloon been confirmed bud?

I'm in love with mine again!
Eventually sorted my brake judder by fitting the red stuff pads and bedding them in very hard.
Also fitted my mtec rear discs to match the front.
It's a shame Audi UK couldn't resolve it!
How nice is it to get back in to your RS3
