Thanks john great video ,hope your well
A really nice guy from Birmingham with a wonderfully raucous RS3: he was leaving after collecting 2-part worn Continentals for his RS3: don't blame me I was only selling 'em and then off someone else's RS3 rather than my own...
What's not to like about an Audi RS3.

Hope it's nothing serious though mate.

The warning light won't be caused by the bypass pipes, there's no sensors after these to monitor efficiency.
Hope it's nothing serious though mate.
cheers mate, I hope its not either, but I have dropped it off this morning to Manchester Audi....Car is under warranty so I am not concerned....as I was thinking myself there is no sensors in the secondary cats so why has this been caused....
will keep you posted!

Right speaking of the devils ...they finally called me! came back with 4 faults
.....failed oxygen sensor, failed air mass flow sensor and failed primary cat.....jeez..
.. I thought this was because of secondary bypass pipes but it turns out its not! thankfully covered under warranty but it had I not been it would have cost £1367 inclusive of VAT to put right.....

Just a quick question....a yellow check emissions engine light is on the car approximately 200-300 miles after my secondary cat bypass....it's going in to Audi tomorrow to be checked....does anyone know what is causing this light to come on? Is it because the secondary cats are removed? The car is driving fine but I am just not sure as to why it's causing this? Thanks.

One thing for S U R E it ain't got nothin' to do with removing those secondary catalytic converters: been running mine sans secondary cats for 3-years now (other than when it goes for a Stafford Audi MOT but that won't happen again) and Z E R O issue just a beautiful road-driving noise...

You know I am glad it hasn't because I was going to give the exhaust guy an ear full because he assured me the dash light wouldn't come on.
Now its happened....i'm still trying to figure out whats causing this.... they don't seem to know either but have advised the above repairs....my warranty expires next month...looks like it will be worth taking out extended warranty....

Looking at them it's more likely to be the oxygen sensor that's caused the light to come on.
If it wasn't in warranty you'd probably fit an oxygen sensor and the car would be fine. As that controls fueling it would more than likely flag the other faults up.
Either way I think you deserve a gold star as you managed to get an Audi dealer to admit there's a fault and they're rectifying it under warranty.
I'd mark that one on the calendar as I doubt it'll happen again!!
Well done mate

I've never seen a conventional MAF on our cars unless it's part of the throttle body?
I've looked on the parts catalogue and can't find one listed.

Based on my experiences your car is modified and no longer under warranty your lucky there entertaing it.

It was just when I read that Audi had said AudiRS3 needed an air mass flow sensor it got me thinking I hadn't noticed one on our engine.
Yeah I didn't know either but the car does have one...I was only feeding back his words....I couldn't believe the cost of repairs from a simple check emission light coming on!

That's true...I am lucky ...but nonetheless although its modified....the ECU has not been touched which would class as the primary modification....after the primary cat there are no sensors so I would have kicked up a fuss if anything was said otherwise!!! Good thing its not been mapped yet.....
