Indeed, driving with them is better than just sitting in them, but sitting in them is better than doing neither. So far, no-one's let me drive an RS3 so all I can go on is sitting and reading.
I love the buckets in my B7 RS4 (except when they squeeze my butt when I go round a corner, but I've long-since disabled that feature). I'd say the RS4's buckets would clamp you in place a lot better than the SS seats because the side bolsters in SS are a lot less vertical.
In my garage: RS3 8V Sepang blue, standard wheels and trim, SS seats in black/grey with grey headlining, comfort and sound, dynamic pack, dipping door mirror, no farting pack,

About the buckets I've been told they aren't already available just because they haven't been homologated yet. No one knows when it's going to happen, so I'll have to wait some week or month to place my order.

I have to say that I saw an RS4 on the way home today and it reminded me just how disappointed I was with the way the RS3 looks.
The RS4 is much more dramatic and looks very special. The RS3 looks far too similar to the rest of the A3 range.

You are our local build expert Pat - how tricky is adding wider arches to the rear of a modern car in your opinion? (Not that I personally would be brave enough...)

A B7 or a B8? TBH I see a couple of B8's on my daily commute and I have to give them a double take to see that they are RS4's rather than a B8 S-Line / Black editions by checking mirrors / grille and exhaust pipes, never had that problem with the B7 or the B5

IMO the new RS3 looks like a smaller version of the current RS4. Neither are over the top and are quite understated. A bit of a sleeper unless you know anything about cars. I love the looks of the RS4. And the RS3 from what I have seen. And I think colour is a big part of how aggressive the car will come across on the road. which is why I have stuck to my guns and gone for Nardo and everything else black to hopefully get a mean and moody look. The B7 RS4 imo looked a lot more aggressive than it's siblings (and also the B8) Boy do I miss that car...................

I've sat in the SS seats of the launch car in London, and as far as I can tell they're the same as the SS seats in a couple of S3s I sat in yesterday. I'm 15.5 stone and very broad of shoulder and fitted them perfectly. The seat base slope is adjustable and the seat base can extend to support long legs or heavy testicles. Standards seats will do neither. I'd say the SS seats give an extra inch or so extra headroom too versus standard. The dealer said 2".
Yes you are correct, both the SS seats in the S3 and RS3 are the same, but the standard seats have an adjustable head rest they also have the pull out extension to the front of the seat base. They are also base slope adjustable. Audi are charging you over £800 sovs for different seat backs in the front and rear for the SS seats.

Well had the email from my dealer today to say that Audi have confirmed that they can't do my car in Estoril Blue after originally being told that they could. This was even while I was there and my dealer was on the phone to them when I was sorting my order out a few weeks ago. Plus in the email to him they said the nearest colour to Estoril was Santorin Blue Pearl Effect, which having looked at it IMO it's nowhere near close to it, so i've changed it now to Mugello Blue, which is much nearer to Estoril than Santorin. Just peeved that some drip at Audi told my dealer it would be no problem. Anyway i'm happy with Mugello, but just hope it's not delayed even further because of it.
RS3 - Mugello Blue Pearl, Dynamic package, Body coloured & folding door mirrors, High-gloss black styling package, Privacy glass, Advanced Key, Super sports seats (Black with contrasting stitching in Rock grey) with RS 3 embossing, Titanium matt finish alloys.
