That's interesting, is that written somewhere that you could do yourself or was that done sending maps back and forth to one of the guys on there? I had a trawl through the FB page but can't see much detail about it.

Like I say the Stage 1 93 octane map looks fine for what I want, that hike around 4K is what interests me most

I would just want to be clear in my own head it I can do the things I want before laying out the cash.

I guess a few could do it, but if I was driving north I wouldn't drive past MRC. Most likely alternative though is plan A (REVO St1 and CETE controller) Not so worried about fast idle if flaps are closed and it is quiet.

I have to admit, how he has handled himself on here recently has not done him any favours in my book.

All done on my laptop.

OK but is this info out there or is it someone's intellectual property? I have RTFM and searched through the FB pages, can't find anything of use.

Like I say it's a lot to shell out, especially as I won't be using most of it's capabilities. Don't want stage 3 flexfuel secrets just OTS map, couple of tweaks and I'm done

Looking like plan A is the better bet for me I think.

Yup all on the group.

If it’s not then you can ask and someone will answer.

Thanks for that

TBH I have already spent a good few hours that I won't get back trawling that page and a lot of answers there that I can see look like stabbing in the dark. Trying to get the couple of things I need from all the stuff posted on a facebook page doesn't do much for me these days. Seems the same even if you ask a question. Never the biggest fan of facebook at the best of times.

Good in theory but don't think it works for me.

Plan A

There is nothing wrong with the box itself, it seems a good bit of kit the problem is finding the best use of it.

Neither John or Mitch will help or condone me doing those tweaks you have done because it goes against emissions controls. They know I am UK based. Quick and comprehensive replies from both but no actual help.

I notice one of the first things brought up on the last question you asked was you had 2 people work on your map (doesn't seem to be much love lost between them and some others on that group. Doesn't seem that friendly or helpful there to be honest.

It is a bit like the early days of VCDS, it was fine if you were there as things were learned and kept notes, but finding it out later is difficult.

Knowledge is power and people like their power

CETE box and a Revo map seems so much simpler  ;)

I am sure he is, but lots of the things he has written would rub me up the wrong way if it were aimed at me......and it could be me if I take my car to Regal because they are one of the few doing a rear Wavetrac

Lol no I had Jared provide a custom map.
He doesn’t answer messages that well so I ditched him.

Darin from DoubleD is spot on always answers questions and sends revisions.
We were discussing him on Saturday while the car was on the RR and the guys at peron had nothing but praise for him.

You seem to have made up your mind in any case about the Dyno spectrum and nothing I or anyone else says will change your thinking.

It’s a community lead solution for people who want to know more about the tuning side of things, yes there are very good OTS maps in all the stages (a friend made good power on his TTRS stage 1 then 2)

You will always get the Willy wavers in these groups, no getting away from it.
I ignore them and just get on with what I’m doing and will always share my findings, good/bad etc about any mods.

John and Mitch are like that because of the USA, they can’t be seen to be doing any emissions cheats, penalties are severe in the USA.

I’ve found out most things by research and asking people who seem sensible the right questions.

Yesterday I was on messenger for half an hour helping a new user based in Scotland sort out his exhaust flap tables, because he wanted them open all the time in Dynamic, I had to take pictures and guide him step by step, because he wasn’t 100% confident yet with it, this same new user had an issue when he flashed the stage 1 to his car, intake flaps were throwing errors after a few miles, he messaged me, again I spent time with him working through a possible cause and we found it, his plastic vacuum actuator arm was broken, he didn’t know why either although he had it serviced the week before so you never know.

We sorted a solution for him until he could source a new actuator / arm (£1100 from Audi because it’s not available seperate from the lower manifold).

He was panicking thinking the stage 1 map was responsible, when it wasn’t, which is why I spent time helping him, I’ve no vested interest in Dyno Spectrum, but if someone asks for help I’ll always try to respond if I can.

DS1 - like the community lead approach.. So tempting... for now will be observing on the sidelines.

Not brave enough to ditch the remaining 2 year warranty on my DNWA, yet.

Just wanted to let you know that fast idle/cat heating is deleted on the Revo Stg1 and Stg2 as well as wastegate rattle fixed , so even with a decat downpipe the cold start is quieter than stock :) . In my opinion, a CETE controller is not required. Of course, many other tuners offer similar tuning.

Revo is my preference mainly because I had dealt with them in the very early Mytech days and have a dealer close with a good crowd of lads who have done lots for me in the past and Revo tend to be a bit more conservative with focus on 'area under the curve' than headline figures which suits me just fine.

I saw what was in the Revo map and would have pulled the trigger already but for the map switching. If I could have picked the 4 maps to be on the SPS it would be done by now.

As it stands I don't need it just yet and while I tweak the handling a bit to suit me I'm looking at the options available.

It is because Revo and others (who also have an American market) can map these things out that made me surprised at the DS response making it difficult to map those things out myself. Spent a long time dealing with people like Ross-Tech on difficult issues and used TunerPro on ECUs of 10 - 20 years ago and not had this issue before
