Dell, there is a link above from Sean about the Ohlins. All from the states admittedly which is obvs on saloons only, just suggests a few problems with Ohlins on an 8v platform.

Stephen.

Are your referring to the springs which an't Ohlins or the burk who fitted the rear 80Nm springs on the front instead of the 70Nm one's?

I think he might be referring to lack of bump travel when you lower the car. There`s a picture of a car with the top damper mount punched clean through the inner wing.

Neil.

Thanks for that as I didn't quite understand what was going on 🙄

I think that's been caused by owner/fitting error as Ohlins are very precise with there installation & adjustment instructions.

I've found i can't lower my front with the Ohlins as I had with the B14s before following there instructions.

As it's only 10mm I'm not to bothered due to the increase ride/control quality.

Dell.

Thank you for that...I did quite und

Dell, The audizine link from T800 doesn't shed many positives on what from a pricepoint perspective is a niche product. If its working on your 8p platform then fair do's. Hopefully will be sorted on the 8v platform. As an expensive coilover should provide at a minimum massively improved handling over cheap lowering springs and also a decent amount of ride height adjustability for personal preference.

That sounds about right. The info I`ve found is that some people want more lowering so fit shorter springs thereby decreasing the bump travel and allowing the damper to bottom out. They really need shorter piston rods.

It's the same old same old......Some people think they know better than the specialist manufacturers & modify outside the intended design/parameters & then blame them when it goes Pete Tong.

Ohlins is a premium product & disign for performance with driving comfort,if slaming on the deck is what people what go elsewhere.

H&R v Eilbachs comes to mind.

As i said Dell if a circa 2k outlay is working on your platform then fair play. No doubt other positive reviews will come along if something is superior to b14, b16 or kwv3. People are not shy with Dollar on their RS3's so the proof of the pudding and all that.

Normally the way it works is a load of positive feedback then we jump all over it.

I currently have Mss track and h and r arb on a FL. It handles well and looks well but it isn't quite right. Hence wanting that extra step.
