I'm actually quite tempted, longer term, to relocate the turbo next to the fuse box (right hand side of engine bay); have a custom exhaust manifold made, and move the intake to the left hand side. Does anyone have any data showing the effect of radiated heat from the turbine on the intake pipe that goes over the top of the turbo?
I admire your imagination but would that be practical (the heat management on closely located parts) or even cost effective considering there is no guarantee of actually gaining any benefits from doing it?.........I have seen turbo relocation on various race cars/drift cars that have vents carved in the bonnet for air intakes and heat management and maybe straight thru exhausts located under the sill on one side of the car but that would not be aesthetically pleasing on a daily driver.
