Merlin purple still looks classy similar to Venetian Violet. Sepang is nice however I fear it will go the same way as Nogaro and Sprint blues on that every man and his dog will soon be able to have it. I've only seen two B8 RS4's on the road locally that were not Sepang, one is Ibis White an the other is black (Panther / Phantom?). I was hoping Suzuka was going to be more exclusive but again it seems this too is going mainstream.

Cherry Black, Mugello Blue or Sports Grey for me next time I think, just depends on what the 8V RS3 finally looks like

The pale blue one in the posts above looks really cool, but my favourite colour for some time has been Merlin Purple - I've seen an RS6 in that colour and in the sunlight it just looked superb.

I think that Venetian Violet is the colour my local Audi dealer has an A3 in, sitting in his showroom - that also looks good; almost black in low light.

Merlin purple looks awesome and tbh if it'd been an RS6 i'd have ordered it:

audi_rs6_adv10tssl_10_zps55f7e996.jpg

Venetian is probably the classiest colour i've sen for an RS4 however this time i didn't want classy I wanted a sportier colour so It had to be Sepang.

The most common colours from what i've seen appear to be black or white.

I've seen more red ones than Sepang ones around here however i've no doubt Sepang would be number three on the popular list.

The dealer had a new Sepang waiting for it's owner last week in the handover bay, A red one in for service and a white one on it's way in as we left…. That would have made  a good picture.

Thought I'd share my order list:

Exclusive colour - either Nardo Grey or Sports classic Grey. Quite likely the former as I've already seen it in the flesh and it looked stunning.
Heated front seats
Load area fixing kit
Folding & heated mirrors
Panoramic sunroof - wife likes it.
Fine Nappa leather - will miss my RS3 buckets.. but I won't have to hear the missus complain getting in & out.
B&O sound system
Privacy Glass
Sports Pack
Tech Pack
Black styling package - had the matt aluminium pack with my RS3 - but I'm looking for something more 'stealth'.
Carbon engine design - bit bling bling.. but hey it's my first V8
Red brake callipers - might reconsider ceramics...? need to get more info on reliability
4 year warranty - for future residuals? or might keep it forever....
Advanced Key - is it worth it? Audi should provide this default for all RS models?!
Convenience pack - might drop this ?
Reversible load luggage floor mat - will need to do research on this

Nardo with black styling is a great combo!

Ceramics aren't worth the 4k extra for daily use nor will you claw back more than £500 on a future sale IMHO, plus the replacement cost.... Ouch!

Would love the Carbon engine cover but couldn't justify it's cost for how often I'll see it.

Convenience/advanced key was on my must have list as you get the start button.... :)

Red calipers on grey car, does it work?

Wish I'd specced them though, so if you want black I'll happily swap :)

Just my 2p if it helps.

Other than that you've a fair but of spec there, will be a nice motor!

Not much of a wait time either considering you're after an exclusive colour, it's usually 6 months give or take.

Is it a cancelled order or pre allocated build slot?

Hi,

The dealer has x3 RS4 on order, they can get a Nogaro Ed' by Dec as well.

No idea if it was a cancelled order, but they seem to want to shift the cars quick. They've priced matched with Broadspeed and I get to trade in my RS3 for GBP30K (assuming if I struggle to flog it independently).

Not sure if the Nogaro edition (you can't spec it with Driver assist, etc) is worth it.  I'm sure Audi will bring in more than the so called 'limited 50', if sales do pick up.

Good move on the red callipers, so might ditch that same goes for the advanced key... others from r246.com mention might be a security risk.

I have until Tues to decide on the spec.

Wouldn't bother with the limited edition, it's cheaper to spec a car and in that colour than order one which just has a numbered badge as the only difference.

Make your own decision re the key too as there are too many scare mongerers mainly the B7 owners re advanced key as it's certainly no security risk.

If someone wants your car and is prepared to get inside it with the relevant laptop/software they'll take it regardless of make/model or key.

We'll done Eric. It's a nice spec and I'm sure you're going to enjoy it,if you want the start button then advanced key yes, convenience pack is a must I've got both but If I had to choose I'd be dropping the carbon engine bay and having advanced key and convienence pack as nobody only you and the Audi tech sees the carbon under the bonnet. The 4yr warranty won't boost your residuals and if you're going to keep the car forever then spec the 5yr warranty. As McD says ceramics are a waste unless you're going to track the car,and for road use yes the ceramics will stop you quicker but everybody else behind you will just pile into the back of you.
