The black calipers at the rear were new items destined for a R8 (!) and used solely for the handbrake. The red AP's do the braking but can't double as the handbrake.
I only went on track with them once (RS3 fest 2017) and whilst I'm not that fast anyway they were leaps and bounds better than the standard brakes. Even on the road the difference was massive.
Not sure if it would fit the FL although @T-800 may know?

Same set up on FL as PFL car.
That black caliper should've been painted Red though TX

I quite like the black R8 handbrake calipers so not to take your eye off the very trick AP one's.

Just looks plain odd to me Dell.
A bit like an after thought.
I know where your coming from but if there were red it may not work as you think.

AP should've developed the 4 pot Caliper to work with the oem handbrake motor..........
Don't forget the braking system is designed to be activated in an emergency at speed via the switch, so would the addition of the extra caliper at the rear compromise that ?
Because the switch activates the system to bring the car to a controlled stop at high speed.........but would activating the switch cause the small caliper to lock up the rear wheel, because it's technically not in the brake circuit anymore.

Too much red imho if handbrake calipers red as well. Each to their own though
Rear mirrors the R8 though T800 not "unstable" I suspect

Would you be interested in selling just the rear kit? I already have the fronts. Wont let me message you
@Chungster interested in that too. Let both run for a while and I'll think about it. I'm ok with it in principle would rather both went just to avoid the hassle is all.Would you be interested in selling just the rear kit? I already have the fronts. Wont let me message you

How's this sound as food for thought mate ?
On the 8p & both the 8v the rear calipers do both functions integrally,1 uses a cable & the other 2 via an electric servo motor for parking purposes.
On John's set up they have been split up due to the APs been off a generic nature & basically a racing caliper.
As the APs have more pad surface area than the OEM pad I would have thought in conjunction with the ABS there be a vastly better set up till the ABS kicks then all things being equal in the scenario you've mentioned mate.

I found this comparison chart a guy has done on another site......
Bottom details are after a rear disc size increase....
EDIT...I've a feeling that RS5 front discs are actually bigger than on the chart so that is incorrect.

Interesting to see the other sporty cars running similar disc size front and back vs RS3 that doesn't.

So is it the calliper or the disc that has the advantage? I’m still only on bigger rear disc on stock calliper so wonder if it has the same advantages
probably a little of both.....
Bigger disc, bigger pad in the 4 pot rears so bigger 'swept' area, four pistons giving more clamping force especially as they are further out from the centre of the 'circle'
