Sounds about right... mine did the same. Believe me, it's even worse knowing your car is waiting at the dealership and we get the worst snowfall in years and all flights are cancelled! Fingers crossed the weather stops taking the mickey and I can pick it up on Saturday

Sorry Drgav, I’m giving up posting pictures because they never work for me. I posted the picture, made sure the file wasn’t big, preview shows it’s fine and as normal I post and it gone. I then get the same message that I have no permission to view it. I might try one of the other RS3 forums to see if it works better.

I work in exporting. After dispatch it will have to be transported to the vessel for loading. Then there are a certain number of days for loading before a vessel "closes" and is no longer open for loads. Only then does it depart and the transit time starts. It's reasonable to expect nearly 2 weeks from dispatch before it travels.

Roy - I would have replied to your post as a quote but this isn't working. The reason I was going to try another forum is to see if it is down to something my end or not and either way would I could try something else or let admin know.

 

James Baby - The dealer told me they have up to 10 days in order to get it on the ship. If it arrives and is stuck on the docks UK side they can prioritise it for delivery over vehicles that can wait longer. You may be right and the dealer may say what I want to hear, but I hope they are right.

Due to connection issues I didn't check the Audi link last night but today it shows that my car is at last on the ship travelling to England. As it is my birthday today it was nice to have some good news on the delivery.  

I spoke to the coatings company and they can fit me in next Wed/Thursday if it gets here in time.

Happy birthday Stu. Not be long now. Mine is showing in quality control now!! Must compare notes on detailing as I want to do likewise. Clear wrap to bonnet, front wings,and bumper. I also want to do the black blade because I think it will get covered in stone chips!

Drgav + Seventeenapg - thanks for my birthday wishes guys.

I have gone for the all over paint prep with PPF on the bumper, grill and black trim. I agree the black lip needs doing and the mirrors because the coating guy said black shows up scatches the most.
The rest of the car will get 3 coats of ceramic and the PPF will have the hydrophobic coating, which is the final of the 3.paint coatings.

My car took 2 days in the build stage, 3 days in QC and 10 days before being shown as on the ship.

The waiting must be getting rather intolerable by now, I do enjoy getting your updates, keep them coming so we can all follow her from Ze Germans to your Stealer!

I'll be checking the shipping forecasts for you just to make sure no hurricane warnings or deep depressions in the channel come up, just in case the Road Roller that's in front of your RS3 comes unlashed on its trip and causes damage that won't polish out........

Roy - Happy belated birthday and looks like I am officially in the over 50s young mans club.   

 

My insurance final quote from Hyperformance was £1400 with a tracker.   

The one I got from Lloyds bank is £525 with legal cover, windscreen, 28 day car supply, no claims protection etc. That's with one claim 4.5 years ago.
