I fitted one of these on my 8P S3 and found when it was first installed it was awesome however after a while when the smear of oil on the piston dried up the performance seemed to change. So I’d re apply and again it would perform when it was well lubricated.
Not sure if the RS is a better revision in comparison but I know there was many revisions from diaphragms failing

Interested to hear how you get on with it.

I’d forgotten about this Brian.....

Interested to see if you notice any benefits from fitting it.

Hopefully oil vapour from the breather pipe will lubricate the piston. Otherwise it's easy enough to drop a few drops onto it by taking the breather off as you can see the piston there.

Well it didn't cure the hesistation issue that I have been having (likely to be the N75 boost control valve attached to the turbo inlet apparently) but I have noticed that boost builds strongly and seems to hold better on full throttle. I will find out in a few weeks as the car will be having the annual health check at MRC. I also have an intake mod planned too.

Good point, I think the end of the DV valve can be seen through the alloy housing aperture in the last picture in my post.

James.

If my memory serves me right the engine breather vents into the manifold after the throttle body so the DV+ wont be relubed by the engine breather.

The DV just recycles the boost back into the intake before the turbo.

Dell.

A thread revival.
Anyone still using the DV+?
Worth using on the RS3?

Yep still running one on my FL car which is now at stage 2 and I also ran one at stage 2 on my PFL car. Not experienced any issues or had any comments made by MRC during any of the mapping sessions.

There is very little in hard evidence out there which conclusively demonstrates that there is a measurable benefit in fitting a DV+ valve. However, I can say that both I and other friends who have fitted them have noticed that boost at the top end of the rev range seems to be stronger through the gears. Throttle response also seemed to be more responsive too.
