The Wire is embedded into one of the pads.....

So you'd need to snip it off and solder to the EBC wire then heatshrink or tape up.

So it is possible to just disconnect the old sensor and reattach to the ebc pads?

cut the wire off the oem pad with connector attached, cut off most of the wire with connector on ebc pad then solder the oem wire and connector onto ebc pad.

Hi guys, my EBC redstuff front pads have arrived, looking forward to getting them on. For those that have run these pads for a while, how have you found them? Any signs of additional disc wear that you haven't expected? And how many miles have you been running them for?

I've ran them for nearly 10k miles after 10k miles of original pads.
I get small amounts of squeal briefly on the first few bits of light braking on cold starts. If you hoof the car about, as the brakes heat up you'll start to get shuddering and some squeal from right side. This is not the pads fault but the discs and the copious amount of compressed dust stuck in the disc.
Anyhoo, the pads are great - quiet, very little dust, no fade, better feel IMO. I've not noticed particularly increased wear

If you've got the rears as well you'll need to use VCDS to retract the winder behind the piston, then once retracted the piston push back tool can be used to push the piston back in, otherwise the newer rears may not fit in the gap left by the old pads.

Here is one thing where Mercedes is more forgiving than Audi - putting rear brakes into service mode is done on the steering wheel by the user on the Mercedes.

Insisting on using the VCDS by Audi only encourages all the bad work arounds that get onto the internet.

Hi guys, I finally changed my front pads for EBC redstuff yesterday DP31513C . This morning I was having a look at the disc and noted that the most outer part of the disc had developed a lip (see pics) thus indicating that the pad is slightly too small. Anyone else with EBC redstuff have this issue?

You'll get it because the oem pads don't go right out to the outer edge, so it doesn't get swept by them.

Ok, thanks. Strange that I only noticed that lip after fitting redstuff yesterday. Then again I don't think I paid much attention to the discs before!

Most don't notice it and it's not an issue I feel......

You'll get a similar 'lip' developing over time on the inside nearest the spider too.

They'll have set the angle of the Caliper & pads so that maximum swept area is achieved without the pads going past either radius edge.

Only a day in so not fully bedded yet but even now I have noticed significant improvement in stopping power. No squeal I'm looking forward to seeing what they're like after a few hundred miles. How about you?

Well I'm not standing on the brakes at the very last minute all the time.

But then again I came from a Mk 1 RS 3 that squealed like hell.
