Yes this was my intention but I hear you on the warranty implications.  Do EBC do a Redstuff pad for the 8V RS3 then?

Suggest you monitor over the first 1000-miles, Tom.  While the 8V has a different arrangement the issues are 'similar' to the 8P where some 'drivers' report 'excellent' brakes and others have reported problems; so as with your 8P just monitor - at least you know how to resolve low speed brake squeal (see PM) should that occur   :)   Any problems give me a shout...  :3:

10 out of 10 Jay; well worth the effort...  And if my own are anything to go by them spiders will stay clean, too...

Some elbow grease today cleaning up the rear hubs and giving them a coat of silver POR15 and then a coat of clear POR15.

Start - nearside a lot worse than the offside for some reason but it's quite surprising how much surface rust came off when using the medium grade wire wool.

Current progress after one light coat of silver POR15, I think I must of dabbed the brush in the pot about 4 times, little definitely goes along way.

Got about another hour to wait before the clear coat goes on... (I'm not watching the clock or anything....)
One thing I have noticed when giving the callipers a scrub is the disc condition on both sides... I'm hoping all these scores are part of the cleaning disc progress that the new EBC red stuff has caused, seems as though the centre has taken the worst hit.

Is this normal? And also what's the reasoning behind the coat of clear when the silver has a nice shine to it?

Edited....vanito!

Without sensor slot:-
Fronts - DP31210C (don't know price)
Rears - DP31518C £35

With sensor slot:-
DP32070C £125
Summit racing USA [approx 10days]

Where are the pads this price? Just been in eBay and the rear ones are £58

Same seller realised the influx of people once spotted the deal and upped the price. If you go onto the item description though it still says £35... Mis sold!

Ludicrous to think they're made here and shipped out there but not available for us to buy on the uk market!
Depends how much you want the sensor at he end of the day

Just buy a spare sensor cut it solder the ends together and wrap up the exposed joint with tape.
Or code out with VCDS but you'll still need to protect the open connector socket.

Had loads of convos about this very fact when I tried em on the 8p Matt, was told red stuff were not aimed at the uk market for the 8p RS3........

Even though they were made in EBC's factory here in the uk

The only 'stuff' they advocate for uk RS3's was the yellow and those were terrible.

Yeah it's a strange one for sure but who are we to say hey! Ha

Rick,
The sensor is separate and not built in to the Pad, they're cheap as you don't need to buy genuine if you want a new one at a later late.
So as mentioned simply leave the plug coupled, cut and bridge the wires or better still, like I did, cut and bomb tail the wires then code out using VCDS

£5 cable from eurocarparts, fitted mine and works a treat although I did use the pads from the states.
