So the tie fighter made an appearance on my dash this evening.
Wondering what the waiting time for front TTRS pads from the states is?
Also is it a straight swap to get the pads on? Total cost to have them sent over as well?

Yesterday I paid $186 (£134) which includes import duty and carriage costs, stayed wait time is 4-11 days.

Bought front and backs this morning (as above £134) for fronts with wear sensors cutouts and £32 for rears. Don't forget the procedure to bed them in.

Jay, do you realise the TTRS red stuffs only have the cut out for the sensor, they do not come with the actual wear sensors.

My tuner has ordered a new Audi wear sensor, but you could possibly refit the old ones.

Edited my post, I missed the 'cutout'. I was hoping to refit the old sensor, but will have a look when I get round to it or if you get anywhere from your tuner before hand id be interested to hear the outcome.

I believe there's a Pagid sensor alternative for sale that is more or less similar to oem and cheaper.

Not very good with brake stuff, is this what is required?

If it is its heavily discounted, if not what would I be looking for?

If it's gonna be the same length wire and the connecter is the same then could very well be James.
I think Duke3D bought aftermarket ones so maybe he can advise.

My warning light is now off for the pads. Dunno if it was just a faulty reading or not, pads look like they have a good bit of life in them but wouldn't mind having an excuse to go get the red stuff fitted

Cheers, I think at £5 a wheel it's got to be worth a punt.

Yeah T-800 is correct, cheaper the better. Don't waste money on so called original Audi ones. Basically all they are is a single loop of wire that gets worn through by the brake disc when the pads are low.

The ones from Euro car parts are fine. Direct link for you here if you have a depot near to you so you could go and collect.

Excellent, thanks a lot, no point in paying though the nose if it's not required 😊

Right... Reds fronts have arrived from America today (for wear sensor) and the rears came last week. Next question... What's the deal with the wear sensors with the states pads? Can you not use the original wear sensor to put onto these or does it require a new one? How many sensors are required? How do they fit on to the pads? Should be straight like for like I would of thought. Never changed pads with sensors on before, only older cars without.

if your original sensor hasn't triggered (or doesn't look worn in any way) then there is no reason you can't re-use it. The sensor just clips in to both pads on the front N/S of the car. Just remove the old pads, unclip the sensor (as long as they are OK) slide the new pads in (not all the way yet) clip the sensor into each pad then slide them all the way in and secure with the pad pins.

Literally the bit that clips into the pads are just plastic blocks with a single loop of wire in them that wears through and breaks if the pads wear down enough for the block to grind down on the disk.

Nothing clever, very basic form of alarm to say the pads are low.

Be careful pulling the old sensors off they are quite brittle and they have a spring clip in them.

As already mentioned it can be reused but if you're still running the crappy Audi pads you my find like mine, the sensor is corroded into the pad and takes force to get it out. Mine literally broke up..
Don't bother with genuine, aftermarket OEM are fine
