Mines also a 62 plate car,
The recall for the prop shaft seems to be hit and miss across the range.
Andy we should check to see if yours is an older car or if mine is.... Looking at VIN's or something?

Didn't John have a way of finding out the exact build spec including date of our cars? I think it may have been on another forum that he mentioned it.

Must admit i find the results massive for a stage 1 400+ bhp car.
I think i remember a 500+ RS3 doing the quarter in 11+ sec's
My intermediate speed was 80+ mph, by your figure you would aready be a full second up on that.
I did 13.6 with a absolute crap start, just wondering what you would have posted.
Oh well, guess we'll never know as you don't want to drive in a straight line and be timed by a professional set up
As an obvious petrol head, i thought you would have jumped at the chance to "drive on a go kart track" and "drive in a straight line"
PS. the run cost £5

More power = want to 'test it out' = more heavy right foot on accelerator = less mpg.... simples
On my car we originally thought it was the recent Audi Haldex update that was causing my torque figures to be low but then my ecu was flashed back to stock so deleting the recent Audi update then mapped again, and was giving out the same figures.
But...
Apparently Audi's update was done in a way that is different to any other updates before by showing the same update code, Awesome think Audi may have put something in the software that is (so far) un-dectable to tuners so limiting torque figures, but nothing has been proven as I know of as yet.
APR have issued a new Stage 1 map that is loads better but it's not been tested on UK/European cars yet, so I have been advised to hang fire on getting this update until proven.
I wonder if this Haldex update and limiting torque issue is a good thing in an attempt to protect the prop shaft?
Did any of you receive documentation of the work completed from Audi?
Reason I ask is mine went for first service and brake fix but they only sent me an invoive for the service and there was no documentation of brake recall or haldex software update or if I even had the update. Guess I'll have to email the Master Tech.
Good review btw - always liked Awesome's set-up been to a few RR days there over the years.

VW California GP 180 DSG - "Candy"!
Thanks for the info.
When you say poor, in what way do you mean? After the update it dosent rev as high, not as aggressive, slower?
I've noticed no difference at all so maybe I didnt have the update.

Hello
Is the APR remap can be done by OBD or only with ECU removal?
i'm really interested by the Stage 2 with the APR downpipe
i'm asking because of the warranty...
Thx
Depends on the age of your car but the vast majority of RS3's have to have their ECU units pulled to be decrypted. Only a handful had the earlier gen. ECU's that you could just OBD II flash.
And as soon as you have a remap of any description your warranty is affected
Launch control did not work with traction-control switched (as it's supposed to) and only revved to 2000 rpm and not 3/3500 rpm as normal and also felt a fair bit weaker, but all fine now.
Some have had the same issues with the update, some not....it's weird it's as if there was maybe two updates.
I had the Haldex software update a few weeks ago and launch control is working much better now for me now ... it revs straight to 3500 rpm as it should and feels and sounds a lot better (more like my old Golf DSG). I suspect it wasn't working as it should for me BEFORE the update !!

Can anyone recommend or have any views on the APR dealers in the South East? They're a bit thin on the ground and I can't find any reviews of them.
Your closest dealers, Austec Racing and Tuningwerkes are both very experienced with modifying cars. Tuningwerkes has been with us for a very long time and have a very knowledgeable staff. Austec are equally as good, though newer, they have an on-site RR for comparison. Hope this helps!
