Well I'm looking to try and help the ride of my RS3.
As we all know the standard suspension is ok for normal use which I'm very happy with!
Ride height is pretty much perfect for me so with Black Friday being tomorrow my question is, has anyone changed only their dampers and found it improved the crashy harshness when touching potholes or broken surfaces?
Looked at coilovers several times and I'm not convinced this will improve the crashy part.
Opinions please.

you got mag suspension marshy ??
It's by far THEE worst thing about the car imho.
It thuds and bangs over the smallest bumps in every single mode - even comfort - does my head in.
My rough ride S3 suspension was better than this, and that was a bouncy baby.
Don't get me wrong, I 100% love this car to death - but cannot for the life in me think of what the mag rides purpose could be. I really am scratching my head. If there is a way of turning it off, I would do it in a heartbeat - can't believe we all paid this extra money for this
I specced it to make the ride better in comfort - but noooooo

Just for feedback, I have mag ride and I would not be without it. I have no bad noises from the suspension in any setting. There is a real difference between all the settings and 100% happy.

thats interesting kibber. No knocks or thuds at all in even the softer settings ??
If not I will do something about it.
It's not as much a suspension issue ( I expected it to be a rougher ride ) but it knocks and bangs like a loud thud over even the smallest of bumps.
It used to sound the same when I had my electric trolley in the boot of my last S3 - if I went over a speed bump a bit too quick, it used to bounce up and thus down - it does that all the time in my wee bluey and the boots empty

No sounds that have concerned me at all and more forgiving than the S3. It is firm in dynamic obviously, but certainly no worrying noises. I drove all the way from York area, to the RS3 Fest this year in dynamic, for exhaust reasons and no complaints at all. I would order mag ride again without doubt.

marshy, I can advise that PSS10's have made a significant difference and now after fiddling with the adjustability on them have found the ideal setting for me. Not as crashy, far better turn in and lighter / more direct steering inputs as a consequence and the car is dynamically better.

Note for reference however, if it is a really cold morning because of the fine tolerances these systems use until the fluid is warmed up in the shocks they initially feel and sound terrible but it only take a matter of minutes for this to dissipate. I was sceptical but it is worthwhile. If you do not want the adjustability or the cost go B14's

Once again I find myself agreeing with P_G Marshy, B16's make a huge difference to the car. In fact I suggest they are so good they will make you question your initial statement that '.....the standard suspension is ok for normal use.....'     :)

You should seriously look at this Marshy - if you can get a decent discount then it really is a 'no brainer'. Even at full price I believe it would be the best money you have ever spent on your car - well until you get a remap!!  ;)

Looks nice Booker ! Do like them in black did you have to make any other changes once the ride height was adjusted such as camber or aliment

Black is fabulous when clean but an absolute nightmare to keep that way. Mine has 10mm spacers front and rear and 235 tyres all round - B16 has separate height and stiffness adjustabilities so you can custom set it to your requirements

Would some kind soul give me an idea what settings they have their PSS10's set at with an idea of ride height?
Just to give me a rough starting point as these should be here Friday.
Got new top mounts and bearings coming too, that was I don't need to strip the old ones
