Why would you take the remap over the box? I just wonder as with the box you keep the car warranty, whereas with a remap unless you constantly remove it / replace it you get the dreaded TD1 flag.

I don't know which I'd go for to be honest mate the car don't arrive for 4 months and it wouldn't be something I'd do straight away, I think it would come down to my long term plans for the car I am toying with the idea of keeping this one long term but I'm also thinking about upgrading to something like an RS5 after, I would ask the guys on here like Sully and Pat who seem like they know their stuff on tuning

I was told today about a little box you can buy soon for the RS3 - just plugs into the engine and gives an extra 60bhp lift - just unplug it when it goes in - I think he DT UK - or DM UK or something like that.

Could Audi (or whatever manufacture) Gain information from your Insurance Company or are we Data Protected As even with A Magic Box you would be a fool not to disclose it on your Policy as there may be a Time (accident) when you couldn't remove it

I appreciate the compliment, I really do, but I'm as mad as a box of frogs and tend to throw caution to the wind and live by the motto "arrrr it be r'ate"
There's a lot of very competent advisers on here some of whom have amazing technical knowledge....I know bits that's all

Hi, sorry for the late reply but been waiting on MTM to confirm new lower price which they did today.
So we can now offer the following:
MTM M-Cantronic tuning box with 420bhp 550nm for £1186.56+VAT this will not effect your warranty.
MTM OBD remap 435bhp 605Nm for £1166.32+VAT For this we can offer the MTM 2 year in house mechanical warranty for an additional £400+VAT
For more information please visit our website.

Hi Kim,

Can the warranty be extended to 3 years to match the lemon warranty?

I ran the MTM M-Cantronic on an 8V S3 for 2yrs (15k miles) and will be buying another for the RS when it comes in Feb due to the warranty piece of mind.

I had many warranty claims (AMI drive unit, HPFP, coolant leaks etc) all rectified without issue after simply removing the MTM box. It really takes 2mins to fit/ remove and the quality is OEM, in fact the multi-pin plugs are Bosch the same as the factories loom.

When I removed, the box prior to moving the S3 on, it felt like there was an ignition lead off  :)

*** Only negative is that this is a ~£1400 bit of hardware coded to your chassis number so useless to anyone else second hand. I now have a very expensive desk ornament  ....

I believe the v-cantronic part is a separate item, but can be programmed into the m-cantronic at extra cost.

I wasn't made aware of this, but had to provide my VIN prior to getting the kit.

Hi, glad you enjoyed your M-Cantronic. The box however is not useless, it has a residual value and can be reprogrammed to suit other vehicles such as the RS3.

I see what you mean now. thanks.
if I was to get the M-Cantronic box could I later purchase the V-Cantroinc and get it reprogramed?
or is it two separate boxes?

@Qstuning.com

Really?

So my 8V S3 M-cantronic can be reconfigured for my imminent 8V RS3? Let me know how much this would cost please and i'll send it to you as soon as I have a new chassis number :-)

The other forum suggested it was £400 to re-program from one 8V S3 to another so its not a great sell for anybody unless it can be reprogrammed should I would want another 8V S3 :-(

I would take what other forum suggests regarding anything to do with the RS3 with a pinch of salt as the majority of them seem to hate the RS3 and run it down at every opportunity.

Kim's not back from holiday until Monday, I'm sure he'll answer on his return.

I'm now looking forward to Mondays results......full report to follow once I've been to Haywards Heath and back.

Cheers for the phone call today.
