They will always buy it back off you. At the price they want to pay, which is very unlikely to be the price you want!
In my garage: RS3 8V Sepang blue, standard wheels and trim, SS seats in black/grey with grey headlining, comfort and sound, dynamic pack, dipping door mirror, no farting pack,
I am expecting a call from the dealer next week on build week allocation. Sept 1st is only estimated. Personally I think it will be later which is fine for me as it gives me more time to gather together a larger deposit.
Interesting though I did ask the dealer how many RS3 units Audi had specified for the UK.
The answer given was 1500 with each individual dealer getting a 'Set' amount. He also said that generally in the past with Audi Rs models that number does not tend to get revised to keep these rare car residual values high.
Not sure how true this will turn out to be due to the high interest in the car. RS3 mark 1 approx 750 made for UK
so already give or take there will be twice as many mk2's around.
It will be interesting to see whether annual demand continues at this level and what effect this relatively high supply level has on residuals

Don't take my word for it but I think it's very difficult to get a refund on something that you've had for so long. I think you need an independent assessment and need to reject the car within the first couple of weeks of ownership. Can anyone else confirm or clarify this please?

Do you think I should be asking them to buy them back off me? Paying £350 a month for an S3 and in 18 months it has had 4 coolant leaks!?

I don't have high hopes that the new car will have brilliant residuals. They might be in short supply for the first year (or less) due to production constraints, but they'll just keep knocking them out of the factory for as long as people will buy them. The high price will keep the volumes relatively low, but I'm sure they will be available on big discounts in 6 months time, especially as competition hots up, and they will be more of a commodity car than the Mk1 ever was. By that I mean, like an iPhone they will be today's hot thing but as soon as the Mk 3 comes out then everyone will want the newer one, so they won't ever be a real classic. To be a real classic and to hold a solid value in, say 10-15 years time, they need to be 1. very good and 2. in short supply. They seem to be a '4 star' car, so good but not great and they won't be in short supply. A Mk 1 stands a better chance, perhaps not quite as good a car but in much shorter supply, and they were the first model, so it wouldn't surprise me if in 15 years time the Mk1s are holding a better value than the (younger) Mk 2s...

You can open a case with Audi UK but it won't be easy as they don't just give you a pat on the back and a big fat cheque ,I know of a few people that Audi have bought the car back and given a contribution towards a new Audi .If you've bought the car with Audi Finance then imo you have a stronger case .
Yeah it's on finance at the moment and my RS3 will be on finance when it arrives. Just disappointed
Yeah I should think you are. That's not what we expect from an Audi. Very poor.
