It's an update or product improvement as they like to call it

I guess until they have released them to actual customers they can claim they haven't had to recall them!

Exactly right Jose, it won't be classified as a recall until the car is on full commercial release - and then they'll use loopholes about why the parts were changed and why it wasn't a 'recall'

Maintaining status quo is not an option

It doesn't appear to affect the Teesside Audi demonstrator as I have just seen it on the road being used to its full potential

I have a test drive booked at Bexley Audi next week, when I questioned them about issues with the new RS3 they were not aware ?????

Either it only affects some cars (something like a dodgy batch of bolts), or some dealers just aren't very good at reading their emails...

I know which camp I'm in!

Well all I can say is without even asking to see it I've seen the email just from being at Audi that was sent to my dealer from Jardine HQ. It said exactly what I was told that there under strict instructions to not take the car out on test drives as there's 2 parts that need to be replaced and the parts have to come from Germany and won't be available to order until friday as they're out of stock. There was a code in the email which was something like 24BS whatever that means. Perhaps someone technical on Audi codes knows what that means.

RS3 - Mugello Blue Pearl, Dynamic package, Body coloured & folding door mirrors, High-gloss black styling package, Privacy glass, Advanced Key, Super sports seats (Black with contrasting stitching in Rock grey) with RS 3 embossing, Titanium matt finish alloys. :D

We know what the BS stands for.  The 24 is just how many hours per day it applies for...

In my garage:  RS3 8V Sepang blue, standard wheels and trim, SS seats in black/grey with grey headlining, comfort and sound, dynamic pack, dipping door mirror, no farting pack,  :D

Oh and forgot to say the car looked superb and the SS Seats are reaaly nice. The pictures don't do the car justice and seeing one in the flesh has made me want my car like now. I can't wait :-)

A response on fb from Audi UK when I asked what was happening. So it's only certain cars then!

Morning Stuart – there’s a pre-delivery campaign that affects certain cars, and all impacted vehicles will have an adapter installed to modify the regulation of the oil pressure. We hope that helps clear things up.

Amazing how so many have their knickers in a twist, and even better, start making rash decisions and speculation from what starts as a small piece of information.

Breathe, deep breaths, don't worry about it!  It's called engineering.  Sometimes things break and need modifying.  Doesn't matter what car you buy, or plane, or bus or cooker, or jacket, or lunar lander - There will always be small mistakes made in the design.

AT LEAST THEY HAVE RECOGNISED IT AND FIXED IT.  That is the positive, and only useful thing to spend your time thinking about!

Indeed. As I said some way back, this is not unusual.

And Tom Jones sang about itas far as we know it might not be a recall as the title of the topic suggests .
