Do you guys really not get this? It's about creating an image of success to make the car more desirable. If you're already wanting to buy the car then wear what you want, but they are wanting the 'event' to reflect the bs Audi lifestyle image that makes people want and RS instead of a Golf or a Focus. It's about the brand, not the customer. It's the worst side of car manufacturers and, unfortunately, Audi are really good at it. It's why you can buy those horrendous 'quattro' grille badges off ebay to stick on your fwd A1.
As for 'wasting' the invite... if you were lucky enough to get one, do what you want with it. If you weren't invited (like I assume most of us weren't) then don't try to scrounge an invite off someone else, to go in their place. I don't really understand why people would want to go to something like that anyway, I'd hate to be in a room full of people all trying to out-do each other's reaction to a car; praising the designers and talking about style and heritage etc.Like I said earlier, I'd be the one asking why they refused to use the arches from the concept, and why they won't move on from the rotor wheels.
