Is it such a big deal to wear a suit? Also, they don't want people turning up in tracky bottoms and trainers. If I was Audi, I would stipulate a dress code too.

It is for me as I don't posses one or feel comfortable in one, anyway my money (cash)not pcp or hp is as good as anyone's irrespective of a suit.😄

It's nothing to do with personal wealth.  It's marketing.  And a shame to 'bin' an invite when there are other people who would like to go.

Does marketing mean you've gotta wear a suit to buy a car? if so they're marketing at the wrong people, guess they won't be drinking Fosters there either.

Lounge suit and cocktail dresses to look at hatchback being unveiled I mean.. come on.
Smart casual or appropriate attire but not so formal
Sorry PT3 I have to disagree mate I can't see anyone with an invite is going to turn up in trackies
I've been to a few unveilings and invite only events and it's only ever been smart casual as a minimum...In fact the higher the marque the less formal it was

The main point was: Prob best not to write you're throwing away your invite on a thread where other people have expressed their wish they could go.

Do you guys really not get this? It's about creating an image of success to make the car more desirable. If you're already wanting to buy the car then wear what you want, but they are wanting the 'event' to reflect the bs Audi lifestyle image that makes people want and RS instead of a Golf or a Focus. It's about the brand, not the customer. It's the worst side of car manufacturers and, unfortunately, Audi are really good at it. It's why you can buy those horrendous 'quattro' grille badges off ebay to stick on your fwd A1.

As for 'wasting' the invite... if you were lucky enough to get one, do what you want with it. If you weren't invited (like I assume most of us weren't) then don't try to scrounge an invite off someone else, to go in their place. I don't really understand why people would want to go to something like that anyway, I'd hate to be in a room full of people all trying to out-do each other's reaction to a car; praising the designers and talking about style and heritage etc.Like I said earlier, I'd be the one asking why they refused to use the arches from the concept, and why they won't move on from the rotor wheels.

I saw something similar on another forum a couple of days back; another poster had my avatar next to their name. It went away. Could be an underlying glitch in common forum software?

The only reason I'd like to go is to have a proper look round it before I defo confirm my order but I guess I'm not swanky enough to get an invite bastards .
