Wayne that's not a great response saying there's now no business case for it.
One of the reasons I went for the APR software was I had been lead to believe this feature was coming. I've already stated I'd purchase an APR mobile dongle if program switching became available and I'm sure others would to so its not free or no reward development.
It's unfortunate some of the information from APR has led to expectations not being met or has been untrue such as the map is not detectable when reverted to stock. Whilst I like the performance from the software at the moment if I go Stage III I'll end up replacing the APR software as its only available for the manual TTRS and Garret turbo and not for a hybrid turbo.
For these reasons I wouldn't purchase APR software again.
J, I can only apologise on our behalf now. Im not sure if you are aware of the huge transition APR has gone through in the last 12 months, with the business being purchased by Mangrove and a whole new management structure being put in place, people leaving and new staff coming in.
All the way upto March 2014 program switching was very much being worked on, however as part of the takeover every single ongoing project was looked at and evaluated. Im sorry to say this was one such project that wasn't deemed viable.
I cannot comment on Stage 3 from other companies. Yes its a costly, premium kit however its had 30-40 guys working on it since its inception and some of the hardware included is second to none - inconel cast manifold etc.
Im sorry you feel that way about APR, if there is anything I can do in future to bring you back over as a customer please let me know.
Im more than happy with APR to be honest,
yes they said they were going to do the switchable thing and whilst there were a few of us on the forum that might have wanted it done
would the owners of the rest of the cars in the UK, they might not even know about a remap or stage 3 with allsorts of turbo's !
If you or I was APR would I/we invest in something that would not make us any money,,, probably not and as the Mk1 was a limited run.
My car was transformed when it was done and I've never looked back.... just my tuppence
(Wayne you owe me a drink now mush )
Thanks Roy
They've strung everybody along for years ,not responded to questions asked on here and now finally admitted is not gonna happen as its not "financially viable". I presume it wasn't "financially viable" for them to purchase an 8v to develop the new software thats why the other week they were asking to borrow one for development, unlike another forum sponsor who purchased a car and at least another UK tunining company that i know of.
Again, I cant comment for those people who no longer work for APR. As I have mentioned in a previous thread, the vehicles currently at APR HQ in Alabama is an exhaustive list, and as APR UK we are planning our 2016 plans and the 8V RS3 unfortunately doesn't come into those for and internal fleet. The act of 'borrowing' customers/other business' cars is quite common place. We will have 4 2014/2015 Audi RS6' in the building come Friday
They shouldn't imply that it's coming then, because in truth it was never gonna happen.
I can't stand these companies that say one thing then do something completely different.
Fine when they want your money / car but surprisingly enough once they've got what they want you never hear from them.

It was going to happen, and as above it had been planned for sometime. Had the takeover not come through and APR shakeup - which so far has been for the better in many many ways - im sure it would still be on the cards. Unfortunately sometimes difficult decisions have to be made.
Im not sure what you mean by the last statement, can you clarify? Im not aware currently of any unhappy APR customers that aren't in costant contact with myself or someone at APR
Roy I said I was happy with the performance what I am not happy with is the misinformation. Sean has hit the nail on the head they shouldn't have said it was coming.
I've proved with the help and much of Awesome's time thanks Mark Ash that you need an intercooler to hit their quoted Stage II figures. This seemingly isn't required for the TTRS as it has a better air intake.
You wont disappoint people if you don't promise them things that don't arrive.
Your last point is a good one J, which is why we are trying to keep as many new developments close to our chest now. in the past, details of products leaked which honestly may never come to fruition. Its the nature of the beast, just take a look at the forums for B8 S4 and Stage 3 supercharger. its been a while but Magnusson are now releasing that kit and APR are offering a tune
