Big Bear, Is this confirmed by Audi? I have a new uprated propshaft but the dealer couldn't tell me if the bolts were different.

Danny to be honest with you my Tuners stock the uprated bolts themselves and have already got a set ready so mine are surplus now

I need to ask how you came about getting/wanting/needing a new prop ? My guys know the uprated one exists but don't know much about it
Is it pure aftermarket from Audi or is yours a late model car that they might have been used on and is there a spec or explanation what actually makes it or constitutes it being classified as uprated ?
Cheers

Mine broke and was changed at an Audi dealer. I asked the same question when I picked the car up and they assured me it was an uprated propshaft as the serial number was different. I hope that's enough to be assured.  They did say it would do no harm to upgrade the bolts, but didn't put the problem down to the bolts. I'm changing the bolts anyhow, I'll sleep better!

I've just spoken with a contact in Audi service and all he can say is the change in part number either reflects an enhancement or that it may be that a different manufacturer was used from Sept 2013.......strange hadn't they stopped making them by then ?
Also said that if there was found to have been a fault needing rectification then Audi would have announced a recall.....YEH RIGHT !!
Like they didn't with the brakes

Does anyone know what the seriel number is so we can check if we have the uprated prop or not? If so does anyone know where the serial number is located.

If no one replies to this I'll ask my local dealer for the uprated serial number on Monday.

I can get that on Monday but Audi told me that the new one was not introduced until Sept 2013 so if that is correct then its not going to be on any car built before then

Had my car up on the ramp today and had a good look for part numbers for prop shaft but couldn't find it any where... Would probably have to take more parts off to access the shaft so didn't bother... Bolts looked absolutely fine though

It's agreed with Pat but we need 10 orders to get the reduced pricing.

Not sure how much full pricing is but you could buy them as a one off Roy.

I've messaged Roy but Adrian at PSI has them to sell and I believe they are similar if not same price as we got as a group buy..worth a call

Please put me down for a set if you are going to order them.

Just let me know who and how to pay for them.

Mark
