Yes i am a member of the APR club so i do not know what will be said and my warranty has another 2 years :(

I have been told the back diff or the transfer box by a friend when i told him what happened.

i am still at the side of one of the busiest roads in Newcastle waiting for Audi response even know the traffic police man sitting next to me has already bollocked them twice about them taking so long, now he has called CF recovery.

Lets all keep our fingers crossed for Audi to sort it....

Vito you are 100% right mate the prop shaft has been totally munched i am f--king totally totally gutted :(

It has totally ripped it apart damaging my Miltek :( and it has ripped the heat shield off the fuel tank, damaged the fuel tank and marked everything in that area.

The Audi technicians words to me where when he put it on the ramp was "f--k me i have never seen anything like that before"

To make matters worse i got f--ked about by Audi assistance, when i rang them i told them the car was broken and i needed picked up i told them i was in a dangerous area then even spoke to the traffic police who stopped spoke to them and told them it was a priority they said they would call me back in 10 minutes that was at 9:40am this morning i still have had no response from them, the police have called CF revovery so it has just cost me £180 to get me car to Audi and now they are offerning me a bog standard A1 as a courtesy car.

Let's just hope they don't plug the machine in..last thing you want is a TD1 flag on the warranty.

I wonder why there has not been an uprated aftermarket prop for these(and ttrs)

Hope you get it sorted.

There is a history of those prop shaft failures, loads of them even on standard RS3's, so there is a good chance they might not even look in to if it has been remapped or not and just repair it without asking any questions.

Good luck mate.

There have been a handful of these go on the TTRS and the RS3 so they should sort it out.

It'd need the ECU sending off to diagnose if they suspected anything so keep your fingers crossed.

May be worth a call to whoever mapped the car?

Apparently they now send the readings from the ECU to Audi, they told me that Audi can tell exactly what settings the car was in when i was using it and I told them it will show it in LC mode but also said Audi cannot put LC on a car and expect i nott to be used, i did not even know they had LC until about 8 months after i boyght the car i found out about the car having LC on here.

i hardly use LC i only use it when there is only me in the car and that is not very often.

Its got 10000 miles on the clock its been mapped over 8 months now its not like it was done last week, the car has been treasured never abused and never wanted for anything.

I have got 2 photos of the prop shaft i will try to get them on here (pm me your email address if you want them you will bd surprised)

It has ripped apart from the transfer box and if you look closely you can see the damage to the fuel tank, the heat shield and the exhaust which i think will be ok.

so does this mean you have admitted to Audi that the car has a map???

"No" they asked me if it was mapped and i told them no it wasnt, they asked how long the exhaust had been on and i told them to look on the computer its been on for well over 2 years it states this on 1 of the print outs i got staying it had a miltek exhaust on it.

I have just been told off a friend not to accept the courtesy car on monday off Audi because if they say that the warranty is void Audi will claim the money for the hire car back off me. I have got a car i can use ive still got my X missus A3 but thats crap compared to the RS3.

I dont know what the process at Audi will be or how long it would take to repair it under warranty or not either way it needs to be fixed wether its Audi or me paying for it.

Anybody give me any ideas on the time scale to repair this as i know it will be a big job especially with the fuel tank being damaged. I work in construction i know nothing about cars

Gutted is the only word :(

Feel for you mate think we all have concerns when we mod a car but just pray it never happens If you warranty is void might be worth getting a quote from whoever did the map (if there've got the facilities) to see if there's any goodwill. Good luck with whatever the outcome

The number of times I have launched my car, never thinking about if it is going to fry itself or not. This story scares me as my warranty runs out in a month or so and if it goes out of warranty, and a similar thing happened, I would be faced with a horrendous bill! Hopefully you get it sorted buddy!

First off buddy, totally gutted for you, beyond gutted in fact, feel your pain whole heartedly and I have everything crossed for you that Audi do the work under warranty.

Something I've done in the past, rightly or wrongly, is remove the car from the dealer who won't warranty work the car, get the mods removed, then get it into another Audi dealer in a different group.

Not sure that's possible in this scenario though but saved me £10k in the past (according to Audi master tech!)

That won't be too easy given all the Audi dealers in a 50 mile radius are Benfield, nearest is Harrogate. Hellishly expensive to flat bed it to there.
