If only it was all emotive Evan. But when MRC are quoting £650, others less (admitedly Sportec and MTM are more but also offer a warranty so not that fair to compare) and your US franchises are often seen to have an 'APR sale' with discounts I thought it worthwhile to ask given you have somewhat of a captive audience on here at this time.

I see where you are coming from, but the price argument is only true if all software is equal. Of course I'm going to do what I can for the guys on the forum where I'm one of the title sponsors, but if this is how you ask nicely for discounts you may want to reconsider your approach
Let's compare what you get from the different companies you've listed. Prices below begin at stage 1. Upgrades, and warranty summaries based on information available on each company's website:
APR (699 GBP+VAT):
-One map.
-EMCS programme switching (in development now) and future updates/upgrades are FOC.
-Stage 2 available. Stage 3 BT kit nearing completion.
http://www.goapr.co....5tfsi_ttrs.html
MRC (650 GBP(+VAT?)):
-One map.
-Additional updates/upgrades cost 100GBP extra.
-Stage 2 available. Custom rolling road tuning available at HQ.
http://mrctuning.com...d=192&Itemid=66
MTM (1900 EUR):
-One "map" facilitated through a piggy-back box that works by altering the signals to/from the ECU to the engine.
-Dealership-specific warranty support via the MTM network.
-Stage 2 and BT upgrades available at additional cost.
http://www.mtm-onlin...IT=mrs3340410qx
Sportec (2974.25 CHF):
-One map.
-Future/additional/reprogramming update costs vary.
-Warranty support from Sportec directly only if the vehicle has been inspected and verified by Sportec.
-Stage 2 and "BT" upgrades available at additional cost.

So APR doesn't do discounts in the UK?
Of course we do. Who said we dont?

Didn't realise I had to ask nicely Evan, I thought just asking work work...... Every mapper mentioned has its pro's and con's as you know for each invididual and their individual needs, it would just be good to have a definitive guide so everyone knows what is available so they can make an informed choice, including me! Price is just one part but it would be nice to know.
Ultimately if your map is performance and price competitive for Stage I which let's face it, is as much as most will want (although EMCS for some will be tempting as will Stage II) then it's win win for you and the customer?
Thanks for working with the forum on this and whatever you have planned for the end of the week. Are you at AITP5 perchance? Or Goodwood?

I'd say that's a good supplemental guide for the community, touching on points beyond performance as in the original post. I tried to be as subjective as possible with it.
There should be an APR presence at AITP5, but I'm not sure who will be in attendance. I was there last year and it was a good time--I drove JC's stage 3 TTRS and it got a few curious looks
