I would be interested in owners views on weight reduction. I know this isn’t the place to post FL Saloon questions but I thought the owners who have driven RS3s the longest are on here.

Now I’m not interested in doing a full strip and losing seats- carpets, door cards etc. I may at some get a pair of lifgweight Recaro front seat and have them trimmed to match the rears as I hate totally different front to rear seats. I’m interested in weight saving to improve drivability and weight distribution. The FL has a 58/42 weight distribution so I don’t see the advantage of stripping out rear seats the make it even less balanced, even though I see the likes of IROZ doing this for drag racing. First off if I’m looking to use a Haldex controller to run a 55/45 power distribution would it make sense not to lighten the rear anymore and lighten the front as Audi did, which assists with understeer?

I’m fitting the front lightweight subframe & wish bone sets and wanted to know what else anyone thought is a good to do?

Weight loss starts at home except if you weight under 65kg like myself 😂

You can to a point alter the weight distribution by adjusting the corner weighting with coilovers.

As for the understeering that will be fixed by replacing the rear ARB.

What's your plans for upgrades in regards stopping & suspension to handle the big power/speed with this build ?

I’m not looking at coil-overs because I actually like the mag ride switching coupled with the H&R lowered adjustable springs. Stopping doesn’t seem to be an issue with the MP4S tyres on OZs on staggered sizes. The Verkline lightweight subframe, wishbone sets, dog leg mount and better settings should also help. Eventually when I swap the discs and pads I will get the Reyland discs, unless there’s an affordable ceramic set up going. Either ways I’d like lighter brakes.

Yes rear ARB will be on the cards when I do the rear Wavetrack and maybe rear Verkline subframe.
