I’m about to fit 8 pots to my 8p I’ve got hold of some calipers from a rs4 but these don’t have the round weights on the back, will that matter?
ive also got the same brackets that T-800 used so I can use my 8p discs

The round weights was just an add on by Audi to prevent vibration, didn’t work. So could just blank them off or run a bolt in to protect the threads.

Steve.

The weights were fitted on later 8 pot calipers to help stop the low speed squeal that some people had on the pfl 8v.

They were also fitted on the upgrade 4 pot calipers on the 8P.

I removed mine on both the original 4 pots & the now fitted 8 pots without any noticeable difference.

As Jay suggested I've fitted bolts into the now vacant holes.

I wish i took the part No on mine before I fitted them so you would know for sure they would work.

Btw you can still use the 8P disc's with the 8 pots as they are just 1mm off center @ 32mm instead of the 8v 34mm thick it isn't a real problem, just make sure the brake pad don't get to low as they could drop down between the pad supporting pin & the disc.

Steve.

As I couldn't get the old hoses of the 4 pots as they were corroded in I just replaced them wiith 8P HEL replacement lines with a banjo bolt fitting on the caliper end.

The hose is about 15/20mm too long once on the car due to the way the 8 pots being angled slightly upwards/backwards compared with the 4 pots, so I just moved the line about at the caliper end on the banjo to lose the slack.

I did compare the length of the stock 8P v 8v lines & there both the same length baring the 8P has 2 mounting clip for the bottom leg were the 8v only has 1.
