For me the EP3 was all about the engine

The FN2 just had the bonus of the nicer interior.......so far out there at the time.

Reminds me of the be-spoilered Scoobies and Evos. Last car I had before my first Audi was an Impreza Turbo. X-reg, well built and from a looks perspective I didn’t know any better :)

Agreed!

Was my second choice, but taking that to Litchfield every other month was a definite no-no.

When the latest GT-R came out of was a total game-changer, and how long ago was that now? Every year they tweak it and make it a little better.

There's a white one I see occasionally in my town, and I generally am not a fan of white cars. It looks sounds and goes awesome.

I'm in the same corner as you Roy and James, would love to own one but cannot afford to keep it running!

I think the GTR looks crap but is a great track car. I test drove one 3 years ago and thought it was very fast but too clinical and disconnected for me. The exhaust sounded poor and the gearbox was so noisy even a v8 exhaust would have been drowned out. Amazingly tunable engine but suited more for the track than the road.
I watched the GTR against a RS Focus doing a set distance on a twisty Scottish B road. The arS beat it easily and the race driver said the GTR just couldn’t get decent traction with the bumps and road camber changes. If I hadn’t of watched it I would have bet my house on the RS getting battered. Imagine how good the RS3 would have looked.
If Nissan had made it looking like a Ferrari 488 at that price they would have cornered the market. I even know a GTR owner who bought it for a weekend track weapon but says it’s butt ugly.

Does it look Chav? Either way I bet the average Chav would pick it over any RS car all day long. I guess we all like different things and I personally don’t think the RS3 is the best looking but a great package. I much prefer the look of a built to be a sports car instead of a family car with a sporty model. Problem is anything race car looking with RS power is out of my price range.

That last sentence is why I am waiting for the final reveal of the next Toyota Supra, even if half of it is a BMW...

A preview with extra wide arches and aero was shown at Geneva. Appetite whet!

I hope the Toyota looks nothing like its BMW cousin. I know it’s a concept but it looked totally overdone as if they couldn’t stop themselves. Let’s just add this and this and............Attached File  7DE7D87A-72A1-4287-B590-DC9374DA66F3.JPG   56.79K   7 downloads

Wonder how you know this if nothing 'official' has been announced yet? I know there was a leaked thing online but did it give the specs?

If they are 17s at least the tyres will be cheaper after donuts!!

Yes online leak gave some specs including ZF 8 speed auto, Bmw straight 6 producing 335 hp good for 332 pound-feet of torque, the Bavarian engine will also offer 37 pound-feet of additional overboost225/50R17 tires in the front and 255/45R17 rear.

Even the spy shots look like its on trolley wheels:

Will be a similar price to the new Z4 which is focusing on going up a market segment, so easily a £50-£60k car, if not more. I seem to remember the last Supra was a very expensive car too when it came out?

Shame, but the concept looked amazing, sadly these days Euro crash rules, pedestrian protection etc. destroy nice looking designs. I also cannot understand why both cars are taking so long to get to market. Odd really. That new Polestar on the other hand :) Looks pretty tidy... Volvo seem to be able to produce cars which look pretty close to the concepts they tout about. One minor flaw... its a hybrid, really like the Lexus Coupe, though that is silly money.

Agree with you on the Lexus and the Polestar. Lexus sounds phenomenal too!

BMW are not very good at sticking to concept car design when it comes to the finished article... X2 case in point:

Looked nice in my opinion and then they errrrr did this:

Volvo are placing Polestar as their "electrified" brand, hence the One (in the photo you show) will be a full four-wheel drive hybrid with near 500bhp. The price of that is a little crazy too, at around £115000...

Never saw a price tag, its really that much? Wowzers, then again the RS5 is silly money too and that Polestar price is also not much more than a fully loaded Lexus coupe? Whats the depreciation like on a Lexus, might be bargain as a used car?

Will also be interesting to see how people move onto all the new Hybrid stuff, have to admit I prefer the sound of burning petrol :)
