That's nearly if not M3/4 money. Albeit without the Quattro but the FL could end up being a very pricy acquisition....

Why do you think I think there's something wrong with an S model Roy?  I said it looks like one.  It's meant to look like an RS.  They are different.

In my garage:  RS3 8V Sepang blue, standard wheels and trim, SS seats in black/grey with grey headlining, comfort and sound, dynamic pack, dipping door mirror, no farting pack,  :D

20 Dealer allocation test mules expected from April 2017. So prob May June to be realistic. Customer orders I'd be a bit more pessimistic about. Exact same thing happened here with current SB. Dealer stick were blart ing Spec and not to everyone's tastes. Customer waiting lists were then anything from 6-10 months. That is fact.

P.S
Any dealer will happily take a 'deposit' and fill in an 'order form' for you to generate interest but again as happened last time the cars and predicted delivery times were well wide of what the dealers told everyone. I should know as I had first hand experience of this.

I ordered mine Sept 15 and it arrived on Nov 9th, a little over 8 weeks later, despite being told it could take 6 months. It's quite low spec compared to others but it's still got the same bonkers motor under the bonnet as every other RS3. Proof that they can come quickly, and that Audi aren't always bullshitting everyone. In fact, despite a few issues with the car, I can't fault the whole buying and owning experience at all. Just my two penneth and I fully understand the frustration of others who've experienced the other end of the scale. I'm also sure that although I'm not overly impressed by the pics I've seen, the first time I see a saloon in the flesh, I'll be impressed. Even by the steering wheel!

I'd expect most of that first 20 will be sold to customers, not left as demonstrators. I've been told the orders are in, can be sold to customers and spec can still be altered (for the next few weeks anyway) on that dealer allocation.

So have you 'officially' got your name down on ordering one of the Sportback's then Jono?

The dealer blurb refers to the cars as being launch stock which is exactly what happened to the TTRS launch in April of this year.

The cars appeared at dealers, people drove them and liked them, ordered cars and waited.....and awaited........and waited......

Hope you guys in NZ don't go down the same path.

I'm pretty sure this is because of the EU block on the new engine as of 31/12/16. Non EU countries will no undoubtedly get the models early (with current rendition of the new engine) until they have a new-new engine that meets the EU regulation (even if that's down to just changing the coolant and testing)

Yep. Countries not being nannied by Brussels can do what they want. :)

I wonder when the UK leaves the EU we can have it early too as we won't be under Brussel's thumb no longer.

I'm not beating you up, just stating the facts. You have the attitude that it's ok to beat up prospective new customers who are excited about the prospect of a new model. I've been a member of many car forums before, but never encountered the negative banter like I see in here.

Also, it's not a dealer saying this, it's Audi New Zealand. Of course things can change, but even you have to admit it's the most credible source for information about an upcoming model, surely?

I also understand that availability in other countries will vary. My point is that this thing definitely exists, it's coming, and in the not too distant future. Are we allowed to be excited about it?

Yes just don't crap on existing owners.

Mind giving me an example of where I did that? If "crapping on existing owners" means providing news that two owners on here don't want to hear then I'm sorry for that.

It's in the OP. Look how wonderful the new car is and the old owners don't want to hear it. Total horseshit no need for it on this site. The RS3 is a wonderful car in any guise no need to diss any of them.

I added a sentence, I did not change the first sentence. Man, you are way to sensitive. You are right the current RS3 is awesome, absolutely no question.

I can't see anything in my original post that mentions the current RS3 anywhere, and I cant understand why you're so upset about it.

I'm thinking we request to get a new forum setup for those interested in the FL. That way those who don't want to hear about it can ignore the discussion easily. How do we go about requesting this?
