I have been very interested in this thread and Roy decision to go s7, I will be hopefully putting down a deposit on a new s6 saloon this week as the Audi dealer local to me has offered me 22% of a new one. £14168 is the amount off, I test drive the white one at southampton Audi last week end they have for £44k the car was smooth and quick, well very quick with 450 bhp.
Lovely car Roy and good choice.

I currently have a a6 BiTdi which is great but I struggle with diesel. We trade that car in 4 weeks time for a new facelift A3 2.0 tfsi Quattro with virtual cockpit. I rate the a6 saloon and love the shape, the s7 is the same car but hatch back. I have struggled with the looks of the x7 line from Audi but the car Roy has gone for is nice.Yes Shaun, I drove an RS7 briefly at an Audi Sport event at Castle Coombe and was most impressed. Trouble is at 90k it's a crazy price. S7 seems to do most of the same job with 100 bhp less. Of course my local dealer says it's nothing like as hardcore. What made you go for the S6 rather than S7?
For me it is the looks and the understated looks and with a remap they are circa 560 hp which is the same as the rs6 / rs7 non performance version.
I agree the rs7 is silly money and to be honest you can't use s6 / s7 power on U.K. Roads but the car I took for a test drive at Southampton Audi was very quick and 0-70 was very very quick.
The reviews of the s6 seem to praise it highly but the I have not done the same for s7 but I am sure it would be equally as impressive although they do question if the £7k difference in price is worth it.

No Nardo in sight mate , Perish the thought...
It seems that a lot people that have not had the chance to drive a S6/S7
might think they are not quick as they are quite big cars ,,, they are deceptively quick
they will surprise a good few , and as Tiptoes says with a stage 1 remap they are 570 bhp !!

Wow - that's stunning, Roy! I've been pondering 'what's next' after the RS3 for months now as my next car needs to be more 'family friendly' - this has now made the shortlist, especially after watching youtube vids of ones with aftermarket exhausts! The noise!!!

Krisey
Try and test drive one mate they are a massive surprise when you boot it,,,
try and find one with the Adaptive cruise ,,(when you look at the front of the car they look like spotlights ) that way you can see if it has it ...
