Most power on standard internals injectors etc

rods are maxed out around 550lbs of torque that's enough to give a theoretical BHP of 733 BHP @7000rpm. Although the rods can cope with 550lbs not sure how reliable they will be spinning with that amount of torque at 7000rpm?? If the bolts stretch and / or fail you will be in big trouble.
reduce torque at the top end to 500lbs that will give 666bhp, or 450lbs that will give 599bhp. All in theory of course. or keep torque high but reduce revs to keep bottom end in one piece?
Pistons, rings, head gasket, head bolts, injectors, sorry no idea.
I am going for 600 + on stock engine and see what happens. Plan is to build something DIY and affordable. See how it goes.

Mrc tuned a standard internal car with a IROZ turbo kit, car made 550bhp with around 700nm.
Apr claim around 600bhp ish with their turbo kit. Who knows. If you run a spacer head gasket and lower compression you will get more power

Agree compression is on the high side
RS3 10.0:1
RS6 9.3:1 2014
RS6 10.0:1 2015 Face lift car
RS6 10.5:1 2009 these run over 1000bhp no compression mods
GTR R35 9.0:1 but most tuners raise this to 9.5:1 and up to 1800bhp
Close on 550bhp is achievable using the small tte 500 turbo. The IROZ kit should do way more than 550bhp??
Going by the above the RS3 is more or less normal nowadays.

still stuck around 520bhp. Seems to be the limit without going to separate manifold and turbo route.

nothing. Not been a very good trip home lol.
I have a 2 post ramp at my house, I had a Disco 4 on it and it broke the concrete on one side. that put paid to my exhaust mods (Gut main cat and fit cat bypass pipes) this trip. Need to cut out all the concrete and lay more so it has time to dry for me coming home next time.
Car not mapped either. I am unlucky enough to have one of the software versions that needs unlocked before it can be flashed. So that will be next trip as well.

Agree it cant, its pretty much flat out at stage 2, I am looking at the tte500 but not sure it will be enough, they stick around 520bhp. Then going tubular manifold or similar and big turbo gets expensive and not plug and play.
I want to build something easy, affordable, and powerful. Looks like the tte500 might be the way to go as i cant find anything that will give more.

I'm enjoying this interchange of ideas, you lot are dead keen.
So in terms of cost per bhp, not forgetting ancillary items needing upgraded (brakes, prop bolts, prop shaft, exhaust etc.) where do we go with this?
Is there such a thing as a roadmap or flowchart to point us in the right direction?
Something like "START BUTTON" and ending with either "Reliable x00bhp" or "Blown engine!"
After all there's plenty of experience here in this forum which can be tapped for information
And even though we dearly love our RS cars does it make sense to go beyond a certain figure rather than just buy a supercar - if one isn't already in the stable?
I know ours will always be rare and therefore valuable so does a mega upgrade create a problem instead of solving one?
Questions, questions!

for me personally, i like the element of surprise, you see a GTR you instantly think thats fast, RS6 thats fast M5/M6 etc, if the car can be tuned to beat these safely then for me its a win win plus its built to your personal preference and enjoyment, I fully plan to try knock on the door of 550bhp soon without much work, i have only had the RS3 for 6 months but i want to see how far i can go with it.

red14, you a planner? that's planner talk lol
Super cars are never really that there is always something not right and for the money they need to be prefect. my last few cars, although not strictly super cars
C7 RS6 700bhp too big, boring, wife scared to drive it, go shopping etc just too much money sitting around.
GTR R35 750+ bhp MENTAL MENTAL car. but too extreme, wife did not like driving it, could not go to the shops, everyone wants to race you
911 Turbo. just rubbish!!!
F10 M5, crazy car and just about perfect in every way apart from RWD and wanted to kill me every time I had it out
my current car,
RS3, Slow, noisy but HUGE fun I love it. The noise I can sort, the speed I can sort. Cheap to buy and run can take it anywhere, wife loves driving it. so far I have not found a downside that I cant fix. Well on saying that the only thing that really winds me up is the gearbox. I drive on poor "A" roads, if sitting at 60 leptons and nail it to pass a car the box is sooooo slow. I guess going from 7th to 3rd takes time in this old DSG. The RS6, GTR and M5 were instant, hopefully mapping the box will sort it.
enough of my ramblings
Power vs reliability is a tough one. One of the biggest companies in the UK are allegedly frying engines in stage 1 and 2 never mind fitting bigger turbos
I will see if I can knock up a road map when I get offshore.
