4 x Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3's ordered from Camskill (no problems with this company they always provide superb service for tyres)

Ordered Thursday night, dispatched Friday afternoon with tracking number emailed and always kept informed of the status of my order.

I'll be glad to get rid of the Bridgestones that are on the GTD as they have terrible road noise.... :(

Hi Shaun ,

I have followed in your footsteps and purchased one of these for the mrs , I have also taken your advice and removed the tyres and fitted the same at you good choice !

Just a quick question as I know nothing about vw's
The running lights on the gtd do bothe your u shape running light light up ?

Only my outer ones do, I have seen a few R's that both light up ?

Double 'U' are Specific to the R mate

You can retro fit the R clusters but that is insane money

The GTD GTI inner light had no LED inside it and no provision / wiring / module either.

Ah right cheers for the info I was just checking mine weren't broken ! I don't see many gtd's just tons of golf r's

Don't think I'll bother with the retro fit , would you recommend anything changing via vagcom that I won't know about ?

That cam is nice and discrete !

Tweaks....

Alarm chirp

Stop start off as it's bonkers dangerous on the GTD

Rear brake lights so all 4 clusters light up

If you've got the legendary GTD GTI rear knocking noise then these are required to silence it

Cheers for the info , it's got the alarm chirp on the keyless lock so maybe the last owner did it.

No worries

There are other things that can be changed, XDS strength etc

I've found the GTD has more standard tweaks already enabled as is.

The Pedal box is another add on you can get if the 1" or so of 'Dead' pedal travel annoys you.

Update

1 year of faultless running.

Time for a DSG oil change

Very easy to do.

Loving the ramps Sean, anyone would think you were familiar with working with wood. No veneer on those though  :)

Just can't bear to get rid of your old 8P secondary cats as well I see.  :D

Perks of having your own business Duke

Means I can get under the car whilst keeping it level for the filling part.

Yeah one day I'll chuck them.

How much oil came out your gearbox  & how much did VW said it holds ?

The reason i ask is when i replaced the oil & filter in mine on a dead level floor only 4.5lts came out & i refilled with 6lts warmed up to 40'.

Then drained down 1.5lts ?

Dell.

Stand easy Dell........

Out came 4.7 litres.......

In went 5.5 litres as per Elsawin procedure

Out dribbled half a litre.......

I actually think the reason for the difference is there is probably some trapped in various places in the gearbox that will never drain out.

All good though, the gearbox is very smooth......even before the change.
