GTD will be 5 years old at the end of the year so I’m going to do the Cambelt on the 2.0 Cuna engine a bit early.... lots of parts to change on this one as anybody familiar with changing a belt knows.

All the parts are on order OEM everything on this one.

Special tool kit ordered to lock the crank, pump, cam etc.

A little visual peak......

Lots going on and most of it gets changed for new parts.

Usually you can buy the belt kit and water pump and coolant for around £180
There’s a surcharge on the water pump that’s refunded when you take the old one back

Mike has supplied me everything

I’ve even bought new engine mount bolts too

Water pump comes with new sensor / solenoid etc which is a bonus.

This is such a great piece of kit

Connect to a compressor

Open to allow air to rush by the Venturi

Open the tap to allow air to be sucked out the system creating a vacuum the when it reaches 20hg close off.

Fill a bowl with G13 mixture

Open valve and the air rushing back into the system pulls the G13 in with it.

Filled the cooling system in a few mins.

Brilliant.

Looking good Sean.
That’s one thing about vag cars they’re usually well thought out and fairly straight forward to work on

Yeah it was hot yesterday

Finished off this morning with a Quick oil & filter change.

Oil Filter is similar to RS3 in design, only difference is the plastic casing had a small plastic nut that you unscrew to release its contents before unscrewing the main filter housing. :)
