So from my car wheel spinning all the time and generally being a right handful it hasn't done it once since it went into Audi on the 5th Jan, with them saying there was nothing wrong with it and no fault codes were logged.
It was clearly showing on VCDS as a Haldex intermittent pump failure but when doing a recent scan it's no longer present and show no faults, so they obviously reset it.
What could they have done?
I suspect something as although it scans ok with no faults the label file against 22 AWD says REDIR FAIL, rather than a part number type code as per all the other modules which seems a little odd. This is also evident when you go into the measuring blocks.
Anyone with VCDS able to advise?

Cheers

Maybe they replaced the pump?

I suppose it had to happen eventually - my hitherto totally reliable car has started wheel spinning on power and squirming all over the road. Not quite totally out of control but not far off it. It's all front end, back seems quite unaffected.

Feels like my Michelin MPSS are running very low pressure but checked and all good, so the finger of suspicion appears to point to the Haldex.

I'll be off to A4 Audi in sunny Clydebank soon for a look see.

Interestingly it has been showing some impressive mpg's recently and it's not because I hang around.

Hmmmm. Said to the Mrs the other day that the ESP Light seems to be coming on quite a lot recently. Even on a dry road in 2nd and 3rd i sometimes get the ESP light flickering away. Tyres have about 4mm on them so I don't think it's that. AWD does still work as I had some fun on southport beach last weekend. When the Haldex pump fails does it just go, or is it an intermittent fault?

It could be to do with the extra power you have since its been mapped ,my esp light flickers occasionally when laying down power on dry roads and my car is stock .

It can be intermittent but usually you'll know straight away if its playing up as the car will be a right handful torque steering left and right etc generally feeling like it's driving through front wheels only.
The fault normally logs itself as "intermittent open circuit" for the Haldex pump... I'm bringing my VCDS laptop with me to Wales so I'll scan it for you if you like 👍

Good point actually. Although I don't remember it doing it this much when it was originally napped

The lads at A4audi said mine was goosed. I've mentioned this elsewhere.

Any torque steer at all - if you can get the power down - not normal or good so suggest you've got the same problem as me. That's a new pump and filter at around the £200  (edited )mark - just done, try nearer £500!! forgot labour and other stuff.
