Hi guys I hope you can help I want to add some spacers and lowering springs, I don't want the tyres to rub, should I go for the h&r springs 25mm front 20 mm rear and 5 mm spacers all round. Your help would be much appreciated

I've heard that 10mm rub I would love the mean look though, I have standard tyre sizes by the way

Thanks for the pics mate, are the rear wheels flush with the arch also have you removed the small plastic lip/guard from the arch?

I dont want the rear wheel poking out, she had 15m spacers all round with h&r springs on her last car and the car sat great

The plastic lip has been cut back Sonny - not really sure why it was there but maybe it was to cover all of the wheel/tyre? Anyway the car recently passed its first MoT without it.

Your S3 looks really good, by the way. I like my cars to sit lower and wider than standard, helps the handling too. Let's see some pics when you've finished

I tried to buy some 5m spacers today but the people i spoke to all told me they would vibrate, I wanted the 5s as I didn't want the wheels to stick out too much and have an oem look. Any advice on this guys. I can't tell on the pics how far the 10m spacers made the wheels stick out, would need to see in person I'd say

I've been thinking the same thing. I've heard that 10mm spacers will rub at the back underload. Maybe better to do 10mm at the front and none at the back. Thinking about h & r lowering springs too... Let me know if you go for it or if you got any pics... Likely to do it myself soon but have a few other mods I wish to do first.

Hi sawda, I added the springs on Friday, it looks a lot lower than I expected, and the spacers are in the post should be here Thursday, the rear of the car in my opinion definitely needs spacing, it's just a matter of room,5 m all round would be perfect id say but the smallest hubcentric I could find are 10. I'll let you know how I get on 👍

I was going to change the wheels to get the right stance but thought I would try this first, I guess if everyone is putting a 8.5 rim with 235 tyre on rear we should be ok, as I'm sure we will still be narrower than that, I'm going to keep the 225 for now

Thanks sonny interested to see the results. I'm definitely going to change tyres to either mpss or may try the new continenal contact 6 or what ever they will call them as they are expected to be top notch so I'm told. Did you go for h and r or blitsteins in the end? Can't wait for pics!
