Dealers are renowned for getting the spec wrong when they advertise cars so if I'm interested in a car I always phone them and ask them to email me the full spec .Toby you could enquire about the Nardo one as the colour is crying out for the treatment

Audi have specced the current demo cars and yet again missed a trick.

Why wouldn't they fit every option to demo cars, after all there'll be plenty of people add must haves to thier cars after driving demos.

You should as a customer be able to see all the options and decide for yourself, hope a few dealers take this on board and order decent spec cars in

I had this convo on Friday with a colleague. My thoughts were as yours that if you experience all the bits n bobs on a demo you are more likely to order them. But he rightly pointed out there are plenty of people that will want to see the non-option alternative, and some options are not clear cut better than the standard (seats being a big one).

I'd much rather see a car with EVERYTHING on it, but thats on the basis I will order EVERYTHING. But if you look at peoples specs most people are middle of the road with options and so the dealers follow suit.

The only car I've seen that seems to have almost everything is this one

Audi RS3 Panther Black with all the options expect the Pano Roof

There is some sort of compromise here - yes you want to be able to see & try all the options before you commit (hence an argument for launch cars being fully loaded). On the other hand, when you test a car you don't want to find that all the things you like are in fact cost options - let's be honest this happens a lot in German marques :)

A dealer spec'd car normally features what they see as saleable to their customer base - so you'll get some regional variation. Remember that until that car is sold, it remains on their balance sheet so they have to carry the cost.
Maintaining status quo is not an option

In fact you can veneer the inside of my front door if you like, as long as it's strong enough to withstand dog claw attack every time the postman comes.  Do you do a diamond-coated steel veneer?
