There was a magazine that said last year it'll be £39,950, that'll be where they got it from. I'll wait until Audi actually announce the price before believing any of that sub-£40k stuff.

Early centre page review in Paper today (Telegraph) quoted it as coming in just under £40k for starters - which backs other rumours. If the journalists are quoting approx figures then I'd be a bit surprised if the actuals were wildly different - the German media PR machine wouldn't make such an error on financials to journalists?

Either way with reasonable extras that's still coming in at £44k +

Which is no different to the 8P, IIRC mine list+options was £43k. Just to options will be more expansive and incur a higher end cost. Not being limited production I suspect at some point discounts will be there to be had similar to the B8 RS4 because the Fatherland still isn't doing that well.

Theres a wider choice of options available on the new car so as you say John its gonna in that price bracket.For me I consider a lot of the options essential and i won't buy a new car without them.

Yep totally agree an S3 will full list if options is £45k that's before ceramics speed limit removal sports exhaust and premium for the RS3. Which are all essential. Add buckets and exclusive colours too and you'll probably get to over £60k. In the same way you can with an A45 AMG.

Sod that............. if I do end up getting one it will be a second hand one after all the hype has died down.

At 60k I'd rather go for the RS6 or a brand spanking new RS4 is 63k 40 -45 I can do anything above I'll grab the RS5 with about 2k on the clock
