To be fair Steve, it was a question rather than a moan.
There is an varied mix of vehicle owners on here rather than just RS3's now, so does the forum still hold relevant?

This is one meet where by a number of other owners wish to meet up, The rest of the forum is about the RS3 and not a section on a generic Audi board.

Seems a strange thing to say tbh with content on the board all RS3 related.

I feel it's indeed testiment to the forum that people stick about and support regardless of what they're currently driving.

Perhaps a few more people need to get involved ? Personally I don't think just because a few ex owners want to sort out a driving day it dilutes the forum.

i know i haven't been a member since the day RS3OC launched, but near enough........ it is my understanding that you have never needed to be an owner of a RS3 to be a member of this forum, it gives credit to the site to know that when people move on vehicle wise, they don't move on forum wise.

So what is your underlying question Neil...... is there too many non owners on here??

Please do not read to much into the post as its said light heartedly to get a point across

Fair point Toby, you don't need to be an owner to be on here.
I'm not really sure what I'm saying, and I wouldn't want to say that once you've sold you shouldnt be on here as this would mean losing people such as yourself, Ben, Steve, Nick, Anthony and others and despite what you might think I do enjoy the banter that you add.

It's just that in the beginning we all had RS3's and this was the focus of the group and the meets were 3's only. Now that there are all these others vehicles it's opened open and diversified and so is it still RS3 owners club?

It's not a complaint and I don't know what the answer is myself, just a question to be discussed I guess.

Current car: Tesla M3 Performance.

“Lightning" 2012 RS3, Ibis White (Sold).  “Bumblebee” 2018 S1 Competition, Vegas Yellow (Sold).  2020 TTRS mk3 Sport Edition (Sold).

this site is what it is because of the mixture of some new, old & current owners. if everybody that didn't currently own a RS3 left tonight by the morning this would be a completely different site than as it is now.

but from my current view a lot of the people that are buying the cars that members have sold don't seem to want to be part of a OC, hopefully that will change when the MK2 comes out

My twopence worth,

I do understand your point Neil....... BUT

It does not matter what you drive we are all mates here now ,,,,,, a lot of us have met up had a laugh, just because you have changed your car does not mean you stopped being a mate are no longer welcome to meet up.

It is still a "RS3OC" meet organised on here, by people on here, so to my mind I could not give a monkeys arse if you turned up in a beat up mini metro.

your a mate so your welcome  !!!

An outsiders view. I was very much focused on getting an RS3. I researched the car, it's positives it's negatives, including lurking on here in the background not being a member. I then decided to take the plunge and buy one so I registered so I could ask you guys specific questions. I registered on here as I wanted the view of RS3 owners and not have to sift through the various other Audi forums. I almost bought a car in Sheffield, but once I actually looked at the bigger family picture I realised it was too much of a compromise for me at the moment day to day and went with a larger S4, which I love.

I can totally see the point raised of it being a RS3 OC forum. I asked a very similar question to my Aircooled VW forum when we opened a water cooled section. I guess its good to keep the core of the club alive but at the same time get a variety of other owners and friends too. I personally haven't given up on the idea of owning a RS3, and although don't post a lot would certainly like to hang around and meet up where i can. I really enjoy reading the topics and posts, it's very interesting, even the lipstick banter!

Fingers crossed I can get across to meet up with you and bring up the rear in The Lakes

Good points there Coley, many a time I've posted replies to questions asked by potential new owners and im sure people read the forum  to gain info without registering, the best info you can get on any product is from someone who has or has had one{first hand knowledge}.I throughly enjoyed my RS3 ownership and will possibly buy the MK2  when it comes out if it has adaptive suspension,so in effect back in RS3 ownership.Because RoyG and I have a shared interest in classic cars we met up a few weeks ago at the International ClassicCar Show at the NEC {yes Roy did venture out of the South},yes this is the RS3OC but you make friends with other members so there is a social side to the club where you can diversify from the "RS3" or even cars completely, The Lake District meet is a group of friends going for a drive and socialising, all the people going have a lot in common the main thing being they all met on RS3OC.It doesn't matter what car someone drives they are still the same person when they get out of that car.A club without members isn't a club whatever name that club has.

Yup no better way of finding out a perspective cars good and bad bits than by asking owners! Did the same thing with the S4.

Sorry Roy I must have been a bit cryptic there! I was referring to Toby getting a ribbing for his old RS3 red tips! Which personally I thought was kind of cool. Individual styling. Can't knock a bit of individuality.

Adding to everything that has been said,I don't think there would be a 2nd Lake Run meet happening if it was organized for RS3's owners only, in fact there is a good possibility that I might be the odd one out and I mean the only one driving a RS3..   :camberma:  :black:

I will try and get up for this run - will be coming from East Yorkshire, so not "too" far, but a decent drive.
