Hi all,
I have had a CEL / MIL on the dash for a few months & can't clear it. Car runs perfectly fine & doesn't use more fuel than expected.
Most discussion around the G235 fault is about Tdi engines, & often engines with 2 banks (V6/V8) & thus having >1 EGT sensor. One forum post in particular had the same 001348 & P0544 codes as me, but had 4 temperatures shown in VCDS & that apparently helped the bloke ID the fault.
Freeze Frame:
RPM: 3197 /min
Speed: 85.0 km/h
Voltage: 14.21 V
Temperature: 84.6°C
Temperature: 930.0°C
Temperature: 288.0°C
Temperature: 252.0°C
My scan shows 2 temperatures, both 26 deg C, which would be the ambient temp in the garage on the day the ignition was turned on & the sensor "failed".
I also have a P3 Cars OBD2 gauge which makes it simple to read the EGT live. Driving around the temp changes in response to throttle/load input (mostly between 500 & 650 deg C) & in my opinion looks normal.
Question - is my OBD2 gauge reading a working EGT sensor & there is a secondary one that has failed? If so, can anyone point me to where it might be because I can only find one (with the electonics box attached to the PS firewall).
Thanks,
Leon
