So after about a year of going back and forth, I’ve decided I’m going to get a set of Racingline R360’s for my 2016 (PFL) RS3. My cars got the staggered setup, but since swapping to Michelin’s, I’ve had the traction control kick in every now and then, so following the advice on here, I’m going to take the opportunity to swap the fronts to 235/35 R19 (to match the rears).

I’m getting conflicting info about fitting these R360’s to a PFL RS3, with factory brakes. I’m fairly certain I’ll need spacers, but I’ve no clue on sizes. I’ve been told 8mm for the front, and 11mm for the rear to even things up.

This will be the first time I venture into the world if buying aftermarket alloys, so I’m clueless. Plus I’ve no idea about spacers, which has put me off doing it.

Has anyone fitted the R360’s to their RS3, and if so what size spacer did you need to clear the brakes please?

Thanks! Andy

Awesome GTi show the RS3 8p with an ET45. I can’t see a PFL listed but someone might know if they are the same or what the difference is based on other wheels. Nice looking wheels though and just over 10kg is a bonus.

The 8P has 4pot calipers which are 3mm inboard more than the 8pot one's so base on that your need a 3mm spacer at leased which will drop the ET down to 42mm.

I found this out when fitting 8pots to my 8P with the OEM wheels.

Aftermarket wheels are a minefield in regards our front brake set up.

The ET isn't the only thing that needs to be taken into account,spoke/ caliper clearance is the major one.

The low ET number is just a work around by the aftermarket wheels manufacturers & allows them to be fitted to a larger amount of vehicles.

To provide the point the difference between the 8P & 8V OEM on the face of it isn't that much but the 8P won't clear the 8V brake calipers by 3mm due to the inner spoke design with both having the same ET offset.

Exactly and not all aftermarket wheels are a direct fit, even the ones (Ispiri spring to mind) that say they do fit, I remember an owner fitting them and grinding his calipers as they turned

Thanks for the replies guys.

I gave AKS a call, and they were super helpful, although he managed to talk me (and himself) out of doing it as Racingline suggest either a 6 or 7mm spacer with these alloys to clear the front calipers. The offset on the R360 is ET44, so that would bring it down to ET37. My car's bog standard and I don't really want wheels that stick out past the arches, or rub.

However he did manage to convince me of a suitable alternative, being the Revo RF019. These aren't in stock until November though  :(

I've managed to find 3 people who are running the R360 alloys, all using 5mm spacers to clear the front calipers. I knew nothing about spacers until I started looking at this, I see the recommendation is to get hub-centric spacers but that's not possible if I was to go 5mm.

Can anyone recommend some 5mm spacers, and if I went 5mm at the front should I do the rear too? Sorry complete novice when it comes to this

Can’t go wrong with H&R or Forge spacers. You don’t have to fit rear ones, although it looks a bit better if you do. With my Novus alloys I had 12mm front and rear. When I went back to stock rotors and Goodyear Supersports the rears started to rub the arch so took the spacers off the rear only.
