P3 Gauge install

I am interested in buying and installing a P3 gauge to my car. If I get one I would like to install it into one of the centre vents rather than by the door.
Has anyone else done this as all I can find is install vids for by the drivers door?
I’m sure it is doable but wondering how awkward it is to run the cable past the steering wheel and if the cable will be long enough to do so.
Thanks in advance

I have one on order myself which is getting fitted at the same time as my build. Although getting fitted by the door it was the same price as fitting in the middle so can’t be that hard. I’ve gone for the hardwired option and not the OBD2 plug in which has all wires hidden and keeps the port free. I spent ages looking for a decent gauge that could do EGTs as a minimum and these are pretty impressive for the money. I see they even do 0-60 linked to your GPS. Obviously not as good as a Dragy because I believe you can’t export, but not bad as an extra.

Cheers mate,
I'll just have to hope that the 8P is pretty much the same as an 8V and then it doesn't look like too much hassle.
Might just bit the bullet and get one ordered.

I'm pretty sure it'll be exactly the same.

I have a p3 gauge and been running with it for a while. I’ve fitted the additional boost controller so I have a line running to the intake manifold for a true boost reading.

That steering wheel looks awesome! Top work!
I have got the gauge ordered so should arrive shortly is it just a cast of feeding the wires under the steering wheel like shown in that other video?
Cheers

Yes. If you want to make it an oem finish run it along side the cabling under there and cloth wrap it all.

The install was pretty straight forward, just running the OB2 at the moment but might add the analogue boost module at a later date.
Thanks for info, helped with the job massively 👍🏻
