Hybrid turbo reccomendations

Who here runs a hybrid turbo and what their opinions on it

i can see that there’s a tte500 and a ttu510 available is there any others I should look at?

and what hardware is recommended

I’m currently at stage 1 with just a k and n panel filter but have now fitted a forge intercooler I have auto tech hpfp internals to fit and I need a downpipe to match my miltek  sytem 

anything else I should need?

The only other thing you need is a phone call to Ben at TTU. 


Catalunya Red ,Heated rear window,Power steering,Wireless (with FM),Seat belts,Servo assisted brakes.Pneumatic tyres. Disc brakes.

I suppose the question here is what do you want to achieve mate? There is always more cash that you can throw at the car and it is often that people look at hp.  Are you also looking at handling / braking mods? Probably easier bang for the buck there tbh.

Brakes are sorted as I’ve just upgraded the rears to 356mm discs and the fronts are having the 8 pots fitted when I get time

im yet to look at the handling Side of things as I’m still looking at cost and whether it’s worth taking the 8p to 500hp or just get the RS3 saloon and tune that 

I suppose the question here is what do you want to achieve mate? There is always more cash that you can throw at the car and it is often that people look at hp.  Are you also looking at handling / braking mods? Probably easier bang for the buck there tbh.

I’ve had TTE & TTU and both have there benefits but all depends on what your looking for.

Steve i currently run a TTU510 in my 8V and absolutely love it! The power is epic, comes in early and is on all the way to redline doesn't fade at any point. It brings a massive smile to my face every time, the power is very addictive!

I ran 540ps on Dyno with half a bottle of octane, no meth which I was really happy with.

Ben is a top bloke he's really friendly and very knowledgeable it's worth giving him a call. I highly recommend him. Im happy to chat to you if you've got any questions...drop me a PM I'd be happy to to tell you anything you need to know

Hi Jay,
What do you think the differences are between TRE and TTU turbos? Both look pretty good companies to me with decent build/balancing standards, so I’d be interested to hear from someone whose had both. Used some are going for SRM hybrid turbos from the US.

Because I like to change things up ever so often. Had the TTE for 3 years then Ben came on the RS3 scene so gave that a try after a recommendation.

Our TTU510S hybrid always runs 530hp+, with right hardware and our software we are seeing 550hp not PS actual HP figures.

That’s pretty good if you are saying it always gets those figures Ben. What is the hardware you state it needs for that and what Nm will it be producing?
