Hello looking at replacing brakes all round thinking of getting bolted reyland discs with ds2500 pads for the front but what are people running on the rear I was thinking of matching the ds2500 rear but unsure if standard discs are good enough I'm not going to be putting it on track just for fast road use really thanks

Ryan.

I'm running Reylands front/rear with DS2500s all round which work great on the road.

Two Piece AP 378mm fronts with Mintex 1155 pads.

Two Piece Compbrake rears with OEM spec Pagid pads.

Word of warning though, Compbrake took four attempts to get the bells correct for both front and rear. Looking at their site they still think the TTRS and RS3 have the same brakes - idiots. The front rotors were made of cheese, required skimming twice and have since been binned and replaced with larger AP kit from North East Brakes.  Pads were from AKS Tuning.

Can I ask what difference floating discs make? I might be daft but isn’t it just the way the bells are attached to the disc?

The discs get very hot and this is transferred to the bell. This being made of aluminium can distort because it is held rigid by the bolts. If they are floating the disc can and does expand with the heat whilst not trying to distort the bell.
