At Lenzie lights tonight (Saturday 25th) around 5pm.

Come on laddie, you can surely get the better of a Golf GTE? I wasn't even trying and had to back off!

Lol.

And what a load of black smoke out the exhausts when you finally got it going. Yuk.

BTW your OS rear sidelight is missing a bar.

Now, if I still had my 8p I'd have had much more fun. Miss my 400 bhp but not the fuel bills. I only drink dino juice once every 3 months these days.

Well a GTE is 0-60 in 7.6s so clearly something isn't right ;)

Same 0-60 as a old Mk2 16v Golf.

Nope, definitely not a diesel, I know this one, it's a local car.

He just wasn't trying, at least until he realised I was up his chuff and staying there.

Remember the torque on the GTE mid range is pretty good so at around 30mph (yer honour) it has bags of the stuff. Not enough to take an RS3 but "sufficient" to be useful.

Always enjoy an occasional traffic lights GP but disappointed this time.

I do miss the 4wd though. Power without traction is no fun. Maybe I'll be tempted back to the fold one of those days.

And I miss the banter here too.

He probably saw it that he had nothing to prove as ultimately he blow you into the weeds so why waste the petrol ?

Not me.....

Mind you, that's why the Tesco filling station hold a crucifixion every 3 days.

I think that I am going to have to accept that, given I am 50 years into my innings, I am not going to stop being childish so why not embrace it?
