Hi

I'm looking for a signal output for RPM on a 2016 RS3.

I have purchased a EBC https://sirhclabs.co...-display-round/ and need a RPM signal input.

Thanks for any input.

RPM is taken from G28 crank pickup. I wouldn`t recommend connecting anything to it though as you`ll load the sensor too
much and could damage the ECU.

I was going to go for the cam sensor.

That may not work as the cam sensor just tell the ecu the cam phasing & the cams run at half engine speed.

Also you may damage the ecu as highlighted by 0120raptor.

Dell.

Hmm, not quite sure what you are hoping to achive by fitting the Cortex EBC Complete Kit with External 52mm Round Display ??

But it states that this  kit is intended for those who are installing a turbo on a previously naturally aspirated engine or who require a boost control solenoid why fit this to an RS 3 that already has a closed loop boost control??

Anyway if you wish to proceed fitting this the only way to pickup an RPM signal will be via the ODB II port, but you will need an ODB > TTL converter.
See https://www.duetto-e...rpm-v-ds-en.pdf as an example.

Good luck!

Thanks. Using this as you get better control on the rise than factory ECM control, resolution isn't that great.
