Recently had a Haldex Pump failure which led to the pump being replaced at the beginning of August (45K miles)

Out in the car again today.. wheels spinning underload, traction light on etc, feels FWD - same symptoms as before (49K miles)

Could it have failed again already? Or are we possibly looking at something worse here.. no other real noticeable symptoms.

Going to be taking it back to the Independent who did the work back in August tomorrow and get it scanned.

Did they replace the filter as well or just the pump? If the filter is blocked then odds are it’s going to overheat again.

Do you know what Jay I'm going to say 99% that they didn't.. as it's a "non serviceable part" *roll eyes* and I don't think they are fully clued up on doing that.

The strange thing is.. I actually bought a Gen 4 Haldex Filter from Awesome today.. and was going to get it serviced again and a new filter put in... then this happens!

What do you think I should do.. like in terms of where do I stand.. do I have a chance of arguing that it shouldn't fail within 4K miles and 3 months? Do I get it replaced by them again and ask about them doing the filter.. or do I go elsewhere who know about the filter etc?

Thanks,

MB.

If its an Audi/TPS item it has either a year or 2 years warranty,if it's a 3rd party supplier them the people who sourced & fitted it will have to sort it out.

This is what I’d do...

I’d play dumb, get them to replace the pump, maybe FOC. Then go elsewhere or do it yourself and replace the filter and oil. Job done.

Agree with jay on this. Filter is easy to do.

Thanks Jay and Dell.

So play dumb, is the smart way here.

Shall I just head in and say.. I think I have a Haldex fault again.. similar symptoms as before etc, once diagnosed and they confirm its the pump.. how should I go about saying I want it done FOC.. some places can be difficult can't they? OR shall I try and get a free pump from them and go elsewhere.. is that what you are saying. Think that is a good shout.

Cheers again.
